Talk:Unobtainable Pokémon in later games

Special cases

I think this page should mention special Pokemon or forms that could also be considered dexcut, which are:

  • spiky eared Pichu
  • cosplay Pikachu
  • partner Pikachu and Eevee
  • ??? Arceus
  • Eternal Floette
  • Mega Evolutions (+ primal Groudon and Kyogre)
  • Z-moves (Ultra Necrozma)
  • Gigantamaxes
  • Totem Pokemon
  • Ash-Greninja
  • non Gen 1 Pokemon before E4 in FRLG

Thank you for the ideas. I added them on the page now, but I'm not sure about the ??? Arceus and Eternal Floette. They are in the game data but they have never been available in the games so they are more or less like MissingNo. --Daniel Carrero (talk) 18:09, 17 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Awesome! I also think this page could use some images. Would the ones with Ash-Greninja I added be suitable?--Rocket Grunt 20:23, 17 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I agree that this page could use some images. I tried adding some more. I suggest keeping one image of Ash-Greninja and removing the regular Greninja image, but maybe the Bond Phenomenon page could have a gallery with multiple images like those since that is the main article for that phenomenon. --Daniel Carrero (talk) 00:21, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Inappropriate title/scope

Dexit is not an appropriate title for this page. Dexit refers to the controversy of removing the National Dex from the games, not just the general phenomena of Pokémon being unavailable. A topic at the title "Dexit" deserves very different coverage than what is found on this page. Landfish7 12:00, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Sounds reasonable. We need a different title in that case. Any suggestions? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 12:37, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
I was mulling over something like "Unobtainable Pokémon in later generations" but am open to better alternatives. Landfish7 12:42, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I see what you mean. I suggest renaming the "Dexit" page into "Formerly available Pokémon".
I'd also like to note that we have a long page named "Pokémon availability" with all kinds of details about their availability. The way I see it, this page currently named "Dexit" is related to "Pokémon availability" to some extent, dealing specifically with those Pokémon that were once available but are not anymore, including several examples from spin-off game series. --Daniel Carrero (talk) 18:45, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Or maybe just "Unobtainable Pokémon"? Landfish7 11:30, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Although maybe not. To be honest, I find the scope of this article a bit confusing. As you mention, it overlaps heavily with the existing Pokémon availability article. Landfish7 11:47, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
