Merge

This information should be on the storage system page, as it doesn't provide any benefit to being separate from a page that will cover every other aspect of the related content. The storage system article does not suffer for having this information on it, and it's a radical idea that somehow 'terminology' for a subject such as this is worth the merit of being separated, when it's interesting enough to be on the page in full and not shuffled off into its own corner. Thank you for saying that this information is interesting. It was a bit of hard work to find all the information from multiple games.

As we know, there is already a Terminology section with a short summary on the Pokémon Storage System page, which is pointing to this terminology page.

I would like to suggest keeping this terminology page so it can have more details than what is found on the main page.

This terminology page already appears long, but I think it can be expanded even more since it is not even covering the Japanese names yet.

If the proposed merger happens and this long terminology section gets added to the top of the main page, it will be too much scrolling to get to the meat of the article.

Alternatively, if this merger happens and this long terminology gets added to the bottom of the main page, then information about the multiple names would be buried under everything else. --Daniel Carrero (talk) 18:28, 30 September 2023 (UTC)

If every section at the bottom of an article was considered buried, trivia and name meanings would be considered buried 9 times out of 10, and no one thinks that. There is no claim to it being "buried" if it's at the bottom, and at the bottom is where it should be, above the trivia section. The length of the storage system page is also not an issue, if this was merged with more to be added in the future; the page is primarily text and not laden with the load of a million templates to make it a problem for anyone. The information would not be lost and it certainly would not be buried. It would be there, on the article it relates to, in plain sight, and not on some random side page even less likely to be seen. This terminology page is also not long at all, it's barely a couple page downs, and even if the the size was doubled, it's still not worth making a separate article for. I generally find this article fine as a separate entity. The small summary on the main page gives a proper amount of context to the subject without taking away focus, while the separate article provides an in depth history of how this subject is represented by name throughout the long history of the franchise that I think would be too much for the main article. A separate page also allows us to catalogue the information in a way that's not possible otherwise, so I am in favor of keeping the article separate. ^Maverick_Nate 13:21, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
