Region speculation

It's been a few hours, and there's been plenty of speculation as to the region's influence. I assume nothing about the region should be added unless official? bwburke94 (talk) 19:45, 27 February 2019 (UTC)

Time of direct

Since the page is protected, can somebody change the time from 9 pm JST to the correct time of 11 pm JST? Arctic (talk) 21:09, 27 February 2019 (UTC)

Fixes needed

"Pokémon Sword and Shield take place in the Galar region, this region has many diverse environments for the player to explore, alongside the cities and towns dotted throughout the land, these include plains, forests, snowy mountains and caves." - This is a comma splice. Replace the first comma with a period: "Pokémon Sword and Shield take place in the Galar region. This region has many diverse environments for the player to explore, alongside the cities and towns dotted throughout the land, these include plains, forests, snowy mountains and caves.".

"As well as the return of Gym's to the main series," - Never use an apostrophe to denote a plural: "As well as the return of Gyms to the main series,". - unsigned comment from MrMoustache (talkcontribs)

Thanks, it has been fixed, please don't forget to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~) next time you comment on a talk page. --Spriteit (talk) 00:55, 28 February 2019 (UTC)

colour scheme for galar region on bulbapedia?

Have we decided a colour scheme for the infoboxes for galar? currently it's the same as alola Kahchun (talk) 21:00, 1 March 2019 (UTC)

We have not, generally they are decided based on the National Pokedex guides. --Spriteit (talk) 23:28, 1 March 2019 (UTC)
The colour scheme is already settled, take a look: {{Galar color}} ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM💬 02:59, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
Please pay attention to the date, the template was made after this discussion was created.--ForceFire 05:25, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
Maybe I chose the wrong word; instead of saying “already settled”, I should’ve said “now settled”. ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM💬 05:27, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

Is this worth mentioning somewhere?

¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 01:20, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

If this page is protected from non-admin edits, …

… then why does it still have the {{Upcoming notice}} template call on top? No one can right now add rumours, speculations, spam, etc. to the page - thus no need for the notice to warn about editing the article without first checking sources, because the page is protected from editing by non-admins, and admins here do not speculate or spam (that is, as long as no admin here becomes another TTEchidna, of course!). It still needs to alert that it is a future event, however. ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM💬 02:49, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

Who says the sentence doesn't apply to staff members as well? Staff also needs to make sure what they add isn't speclaation and/or rumor. The template is fine and is required.--ForceFire 05:20, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
BTW, were you a staff member when TTEchidna was evicted from this wiki (2011 or so)? ‑‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM💬 05:23, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
No, I was not. That is irrelevant to Sword and Shield..--ForceFire 05:26, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

Sword/Shield packaging

Who is allowed to upload the recently-released packaging for Sword and Shield? ‐‑SilSinn (TIDs768426S123446UM💬 14:46, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

Image Descriptions

The descriptions for both Sword logos in the Gallery incorrectly label the images as logos for Sun. AmoongussForLife (talk) 21:03, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

You can add the New Pokémon announced Yamper and Impidimp and the Gym Leader, Nessa? --Emmakazam22 (talk) 13:03, 14 June 2019 (UTC)

Why is there no mention of the game not having all Pokemon?

During E3, they announced that some Pokémon can't be transferred. Why isn't this in the article? ¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 19:42, 18 June 2019 (UTC)

Because we don't yet know the exact details, probably. bwburke94 (talk) 04:10, 20 June 2019 (UTC)

does... does anyone want to add the new information from yesterday morning to the page...? Nutter Butter (talk) 21:26, 8 August 2019 (UTC)

yo. anyone awake on this website???? Nutter Butter (talk) 05:25, 10 August 2019 (UTC)

is sirfetch'd

confirmed exclusive to sword? Pikachu210 (talk) 05:15, 19 September 2019 (UTC)

Yes, it appears so. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 05:28, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
Then wouldn't that also confirm Farfetch'd to be Sword exclusive as well? Kangaflora (talk) 23:36, 27 September 2019 (UTC)
Yes. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 03:12, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
Actually, it wouldn't. It could be a Cosmoem case where the evolution depends on the version. Pikachu210 (talk) 23:42, 3 October 2019 (UTC)

New Sword and Shield Information revels

So yeah a lot of new Sword and Shield revels came out todays thank to interview. so that should be added in. Eighteen Pokémon Gyms Major and Minor, Autosave features option, EXP Share change, no HM, and whatever else reveled today if possible.--Jacob Kogan (talk) 04:43, 2 October 2019 (UTC)

Version Exclusives

Alongside the reveal of Sword and Shield's file size, the download cards also showed that the Gothita line and Turtonator are exclusive to Sword, and that the Solosis and Vullaby lines and Drampa are exclusive to Shield. Shouldn't this be added to the page? Marlotix (talk) 22:30, 15 October 2019 (UTC)

First paragraph in Features section is inaccurate.

As we've known for a while, there are indeed wild Pokemon visible in the overworld in this game. They also replaced the previous random encounter system with one in which a Pokemon is hiding and has to be approached to trigger the encounter. It's not a full reversion to traditional mechanics. Crunchdog29 (talk) 02:24, 16 October 2019 (UTC)

Female Indeedee is listed as pure Psychic on this page instead of Psychic/Normal, in the game-exclusive section. --Flicky1991 20:19, 6 December 2019 (UTC)

Is it even supposed to be listed as version exclusive if you can just breed for the other gender? -Pokeant (talk) 04:09, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
Didn't realise it could breed, fixed. --Spriteit (talk) 00:48, 8 December 2019 (UTC)

First game ever

This is the first game in the core series where the player gets the starter from the champion and not from the professor - unsigned comment from Istiyaq (talkcontribs)

Hala gives the player their starter in SM, and Bianca gives the player theirs in BW2.Kai * the Arc Toraph 22:19, 17 December 2019 (UTC)

Link template

What link template do you recommend for linking to the article? --TheICTLiker4 10:04, 12 January 2020 (UTC)

Linking to this article? {{G}}. It's fine to use it for games, as that is its original purpose. Using it for {{g|trainer}} or {{g|breeding}} is not.--ForceFire 10:11, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
Thank you. --TheICTLiker4 10:12, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
You aren't required to use a template. I prefer to use no template at all here. Nescientist (talk) 10:15, 12 January 2020 (UTC)

First version exclusive rival?

Why the trivia section states that this is the first game to have version exclusive rival, when that first clearly goes to Dulse and Soliera from Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon? Horn (talk) 11:28, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

Because they aren't rivals. Animaltamer7 (talk) 11:56, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
How come? They follow the player, battle them and are important to the storyline. What else define rival then? And what they are if they are not rivals? --Horn (talk) 18:42, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

Unusable Moves

The following moves are listed as Unusable here, but as far as I can tell from their respective pages, and them being listed on the Max Move page, they are no longer unusable: Seed Flare, Light of Ruin, Ice Hammer, Hyperspace Fury, Hyperspace Hole, Hyper Fang. I might be missing something, which is why I'm putting this here for now. WOLKsite (talk) 00:49, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

The list also seems to be missing Feint Attack. WOLKsite (talk) 01:05, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
