Talk:Food (Mystery Dungeon)

Latest comment: 6 December 2025 by RRad in topic Huge Apple and Perfect Apple

I have recently been finding Wonder Gummis in the treasure chamber in Deep Miracle Sea B3F. Should the location be added? Or is it supposed to be ground-only locations? Sidnoea 17:30, 27 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Not food items

Technically, Wander Gummis and Gone Pebbles are not food items- they can't be used in the Spinda's Café, for example, and it says "Use" instead of "Eat" or "Ingest". Should they be removed or left to further discussion? Kiryu 19:48, 25 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Well, the Wander Gummi is based off a food item. Maybe it can't be used in Spinda's Café because Spinda knows it's fake? It seems like a food item, and that's a decent reason to keep it here. Could even be a bit of trivia for it! Though I agree with you on the Gone Pebbles, they don't even seem like a food item. ~~ Scyther Be Awesome! Talk! 04:22, 27 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Locations of Gummis

Shouldn't the article mention that the places listed are from both Mystery dungeon games on the DS? And since dungeons in the first games that are not in the sequels', what they did with the gummi?Patrickmck 00:54, 31 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Shadow Hold status

Supposedly, Shadow Hold is a possible status ailment inflicted by Grimy Food. What is it though (outside of XD)? ~Enervation 13:32, 29 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

I was wondering the same thing, and I think it's a mistake. Pretty sure it's supposed to say Leg Hold status, which is caused by the main series counterparts of Shadow Hold (such as Mean Look). Schiffy (talk) 22:53, 15 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Perfect Apple

Super Mystery Dungeon has them as actual items apparently. Eridanus (talk) 15:19, 23 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Huge Apple

This item either doesn't have a redirect, or isn't properly indexed by the search engine or something, because this page isn't what appears by default when searching for it.--Sandrew26 (talk) 02:02, 1 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Also, in Blue Mystery dungeon, the belly size increase granted by these items only lasts for the current dungeon. It seems worth mentioning, but I can't check to see if the mechanics are the same in any of the other games. --Sandrew26 (talk) 02:21, 1 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

I'm pretty sure belly size increases only last for the dungeon in all Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games. - unsigned comment from Celebi2002 (talkcontribs)

I can confirm that it does belly size increases are temporary in Explorers of Sky and Super Mystery Dungeon. I will check if it applies to Gates to infinity. Celebi2002 (talk) 16:40, 15 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Korean Names

The bottom of the page says the alternate language section is incomplete and needs Portuguese and Korean names. All of the official Korean names have been added. As Sky - onward wasn't released in South Korea. HaxAras (talk) 04:54, 26 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for pointing this out. I marked them with - so it's more obvious that they don't exist. --Raltseye prata med mej 13:36, 26 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Locations of Mega Donut, Four-Leaf Cookie, and Sweet Chocolate in RTDX

Not only do they have artwork in the game, but their respective sections say "introduced" instead of "only in". Are these food items actually in RTDX? If so, then we should add their locations in the page. Goyangi (talk) 01:07, 23 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Huge Apple and Perfect Apple

Here is a localization doozy...

  • In Red/Blue Rescue Team, there is an food item called the セカイイチ Sekai ichi, which was localized as the "Huge Apple".
  • In Explorers, the food item was renamed in Japanese to とくだいリンゴ Extra-Large Apple, while the English localization kept the "Huge Apple" name. セカイイチ Sekai ichi was instead used as Wigglytuff's favorite food in the story, and this version was localized as the "Perfect Apple".
  • In Super Mystery Dungeon and Rescue Team DX, セカイイチ Sekai ichi is once again an obtainable item, and was localized to "Perfect Apple".

How should this best be handled on the page? I was thinking of adding Red/Blue Rescue Team's original Japanese name for the Huge Apple, but I'm not sure if the Item template supports multiple (Japanese) names.

Currently it also treats the Huge Apple and Perfect Apple as two separate items, but it could very well be argued that at least the Huge Apple from Red/Blue Rescue Team and the Perfect Apple from Super Mystery Dungeon and Rescue Team DX are one and the same under different localized names (albeit with some mechanical differences between games, as seen with many other items). --RRad (talk) 19:26, 6 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
