Release information

This card was included in the Mega Evolution expansion, first released in the Japanese Mega Symphonia expansion. In Japan, it is reprinted in the Start Deck 100 Battle Collection.

Rulings

  • A player may use Strange Timepiece to devolve a Psychic-type Pokémon that had evolved from a non-Psychic-type Pokémon (eg. devolving a Tinkaton ex that was evolved from a Metal-type Tinkatuff all the way down to a Tinkatink).[1]
  • A player may use Strange Timepiece to devolve 1 of their damaged Psychic-type Pokémon such that the damage will cause the devolved Pokémon to be Knocked Out.[1]
  • Any card effects that override normal Evolution rules (namely by allowing Pokémon to evolve on the same turn they are played) will override Strange Timepiece's ruling that prevents a Pokémon devolved with it from evolving again on the same turn. These include, but are not limited to, the following situations:[1]
    • If a player uses Strange Timepiece to devolve their Psychic-type Pokémon in the Active Spot into Eevee with the "Boosted Evolution" Ability, that Eevee may evolve again on the same turn.
    • If a player uses Strange Timepiece to devolve their Psychic-type Rabsca into a Grass-type Rellor, and the Forest of Vitality Stadium is in play, Forest of Vitality makes it so that the Rellor may evolve again into a Grass-type Rabsca on the same turn.
    • A player may use Technical Machine: Evolution to evolve their Benched Pokémon that was devolved using Strange Timepiece on the same turn.
  • If a player uses Acerola's Mischief on 1 of their Psychic-type Pokémon and then devolves it with Strange Timepiece, the effect of Acerola's Mischief on that Pokémon will be considered lost.[1]
