Release information

This card was included in the Next Destinies expansion, first released in the Japanese Psycho Drive expansion. It was reprinted as one of the BW-P Promotional cards in a ten card random pack released during the Japanese March 2012 Gym Challenge.

In the Scarlet & Violet Series, this card was reprinted in the Black Bolt expansion, first released in the Japanese expansion with the same name, with new artwork by an unknown illustrator.

During the Japanese MEGA Series, the Black Bolt print of this card was reprinted in the Japanese Premium Trainer Box MEGA and the Start Deck 100 Battle Collection. It is also reprinted in the Ascended Heroes special expansion, originating from the Japanese MEGA Dream ex subset.

Rulings

• On September 11, 2025, the official Pokémon website announced a minor errata for the Next Destinies print of Prism Energy. The updated effect states that this card provides Energy only while it is attached to a Pokémon, matching its updated Black Bolt print.
