Rulings

  • A player may use Lillie's Determination if they have no cards in their deck and only 2 cards in their hand (including Lillie's Determination). In this situation, the player "shuffles" their remaining card in hand into their deck and draws it.[3]
  • A player may use Lillie's Determination if it is the last card in their hand, such that they would be shuffling no cards into their deck. The card text of Lillie's Determination does not specify that the player should shuffle any card from their hand, so it is acceptable to use Lillie's Determination to shuffle 0 cards from the hand into the deck (i.e. just shuffling the deck) before drawing the indicated amount according to how many Prize cards the player has remaining.[4]
    • However, this cannot be done if the player has no cards left in their deck. In order to use Lillie's Determination, either the player has to have at least 2 cards in their hand (including Lillie's Determination), or their deck has to have at least 1 card, or both.[3]

Trivia

As of September 28, 2025, an error is currently present in Pokémon Trading Card Game Live whereby if a player uses Lillie's Determination as the last card in their hand, the deck isn't shuffled.[5]

Origin

Lillie is an ally character in the Generation VII Pokémon games.
