The Music Box (Japanese: オルゴール Music Box) is an item that only exists in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX. When the Rock Part, Ice Part, and Steel Part are joined together, the Music Box is formed. The Music Box will crumble if the player attempts to use it.

If the Music Box has been formedRTDX/is in the player's ToolboxRB, Mew will randomly appear on floors 36 through 98RB/40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, and 98RTDX of the Buried Relic.

Parts for the Music Box

All three of these Parts are required to create the Music Box. Separately, their only use is to be able to recruit the corresponding titan (a function that the Music Box can perform as well). If a titan has been recruited, its Part can be found on the ground upon entering the floor, with no fight required to obtain it. The Parts will crumble if the player attempts to use them.

Recurrences

If the player gets through the entire dungeon and hasn't found Mew, then the player may re-enter the Buried Relic and continue looking for Mew. In the case that something happens to the Music Box, the player must receive each of the three parts from each member of the Legendary titan trio again (if one is already recruited, its part will appear on that floor without any battle) in order to build a new one.

Trivia

  • While the three parts were simple pyramid-shaped prisms in the original, DX shows the individual parts within the prisms: the Rock Part is the drum, the Ice Part is the comb, and the Steel Part is the winding mechanism.
