Release information

This card was included in the Sun & Moon expansion with artwork by Ken Sugimori, first released in the Japanese Sun & Moon Starter Set. A Full Art print with new artwork by Sanosuke Sakuma was released as one of the Japanese SM-P Promotional cards, given to those who purchased a booster box of the Japanese Sun & Moon subset, starting January 27, 2017 while supplies lasted. The Regular print was reprinted in the Japanese Tapu Bulu-GX Enhanced Starter Set. Both Half Decks of the Sun & Moon Trainer Kit: Lycanroc & Alolan Raichu, released April 21, 2017, included reprints of the Regular print. The Full Art print was later released in the English Guardians Rising expansion.

The Regular print was reprinted in Japan in the Shining Legends subset and again as one of the Japanese SM-P Promotional cards. The SM-P Promotional print was one of nine possible cards included in special packs sent to Event Organizers in August 2017 for distribution in official events hosted by them and features the Event Organizer logo in the bottom right corner of the illustration. The English Shining Legends expansion later included the print from its Japanese equivalent. The Japanese Solgaleo-GX & Lunala-GX Legendary Starter Set and Forbidden Light expansion included another reprint of the Regular print.

In Japan, participants of the Sky-Splitting Charisma Shield Game, held at the Pokémon Card Station at the Tokyo Bay Pokémon Center on June 1, 2018, were given five Trainer cards to use in their decks if they so wished. These included two unnumbered SM-P Promotional copies of the Regular print of this card, two unnumbered SM-P Promotional copies of Sophocles, and one unnumbered SM-P Promotional copy of Ultra Ball. The Shield Game operated much in the same way as Limited format tournaments outside Japan: participants would receive 15 Sky-Splitting Eminence booster packs and 14 copies of each basic Energy card upon entry and play using a 40-card deck and four Prize cards. The event was limited to 24 entrants. Hau was reprinted in the Celestial Storm expansion with new artwork by TOKIYA, first released in the Japanese Sky-Splitting Charisma expansion.

Four variants of the original Sun & Moon print were included in the Sun & Moon Trainer Kit: Alolan Sandslash & Alolan Ninetales. The cards within the kit are individually numbered so the decks can be ordered for use in a practice duel, with the numbers being in a gray or blue circle at the bottom right of the card to tell the decks apart. Each deck contains two of the prints, both sets being numbered 19 and 23.

The Sun & Moon Regular print was reprinted in each of the Japanese GX Starter Decks and the Japanese Sun & Moon Family Pokémon Card Game set. The Celestial Storm print was reprinted in the Japanese Super-Burst Impact expansion, in each of the Eevee-GX Starter Sets, in both Trainer Battle Decks, and in both Tag Team GX Starter Sets.

In Japan, another SM-P Promotional print with new artwork by You Iribi was given to participants of Extra Battle Day events, held at participating stores across Japan during October and November 2019. Tournaments held as part of these events utilized the Extra Regulation format (equivalent to the Expanded format outside Japan), commemorating the release of the Extra Regulation Box on October 4, 2019. Depending on the venue and places available, people could either register on the day of an event or could enter a lottery via the Players Club website to reserve their place. The application period for events held in October was open between September 17 and 24, 2019, with results announced on September 27, 2019. The application period for events held in November was open between October 11 and 18, 2019, with results announced on October 25, 2019.
