Escape Rope (Japanese: あなぬけのヒモ Hole-Escape Rope) is an Item card. It was first released as part of the Plasma Storm expansion.

Each player switches his or her Active Pokémon with 1 of his or her Benched Pokémon. (Your opponent switches first. If a player does not have a Benched Pokémon, he or she doesn't switch Pokémon.)
 
Do Nothing  
At the beginning of your turn, flip a coin. If heads, you can do nothing during your turn. If tails, your opponent can do nothing during his or her next turn.

Each player switches their Active Pokémon with 1 of their Benched Pokémon. Your opponent switches first. (If a player does not have a Benched Pokémon, that player doesn't switch Pokémon.)
 
Do Nothing  
At the beginning of your turn, flip a coin. If heads, you can do nothing during your turn. If tails, your opponent can do nothing during his or her next turn.
You may play as many Item cards as you like during your turn (before your attack).


Release information

This card was included in the Plasma Storm expansion, first released in the Japanese Freeze Bolt expansion. In Japan, this card was reprinted as one of the BW-P Promotional cards, available as part of a ten card random pack released during the September 2012 Gym Challenge.

During the XY Series, Escape Rope was reprinted with new artwork by Toyste Beach in the English Primal Clash expansion, originating from the Japanese Tidal Storm expansion. In Japan, a Mirror Reverse Holo reprint of this print was included in the Premium Champion Pack.

A print with new artwork by Toyste Beach was released in the Japanese Facing a New Trial subset. A Full Art Secret print, also by Toyste Beach, was included in the Japanese To Have Seen the Battle Rainbow expansion. Both of these prints were included in the Burning Shadows expansion.

This card's effect matches that of Warp Point, a card previously released many times in between the Gym Challenge expansion and the Majestic Dawn expansion.
