- As far as I know French there's no "je aime" because you need to contract it to "j'aime", but I'd leave "je t'aime Malamar", in French it is normal to use pronouns more often and it is natural that way. Rocket Grunt 19:47, 6 September 2025 (UTC)

Some additions (and question about sign languages)
Would there be a way to add "I love Malamar" in sign languages? (ASL, BSL, etc.) Through glossing, video, etc.
Some additions as well:
Λατρεύω το Μάλαμαρ! - Greek (I don't know what grammatical gender Malamar would have in Greek; usually loawords would take on the gender of the original or based n the ending of the word, but since English/Malamar has no grammatical gender, and because -ar isn't a native ending in Greek, I went with the neuter "το". Native Greek speakers can correct me on this one.
Jeg elsker Malamar! - Danish (Like for a lot of languages, it can be a bit hard to find information on distinguishing phrases for romantic love from those for nonromantic. From my understanding, saying "Jeg elsker [object]" is a bit like saying "I love [object]" in English, where the phrase can be interpreted as romantic, but for animals/objects, that isn't necessarily the case. Again, native speakers please correct me on this.)
Malamar amo! - Latin (free word order, went with object first to emphasize our great Malamar. Having more issues with grammatical gender and declensions with this one. If you want to make a declension table for "Malamar", be my guest.)

- Even more. Stupid question: Is the third person "I love him/her/it/them/etc." generally preferred? Sometimes it's trickier finding the third person than the second.
- Even stupider question: what is the nature of this love? Is Malamar in a higher position than the speaker?

- As a native greek speaker, the sentence is indeed right. Plus the word "καλαμάρι" which means squid and was propably one of the words used as its name origin is gender neutral in greek already, so i would assume malamar is as well. RiverTheUmbreon (talk) 15:02, 9 September 2025 (UTC)

For Yiddish, "איך האָב ליב מאַלאַמאר!" "Ikh hob lib Malamar" (notably the ! should be at the far left, I'm not sure how to get it to be on the left since I just joined Bulbapedia lol)
For Latin, assuming that the Latin name for Malamar would be Malamārius (as the origin of the name extends to Italian calamaro from Latin calamārius), it would be "Malamārium amō!" assuming I've correctly translated that. PiplupRox (talk) 17:21, 8 September 2025 (UTC)

- The way I see it, if Malamārius is conjugated like a regular Latin masculine second-declension -ius noun, it would be conjugated thusly:
- Singular
- Nominative: Malamārius (when a Malamar is the subject of the sentence)
- Vocative: Malamārī (for addressing a single Malamar)
- Accusative: Malamārium (when a Malamar is the object of a verb)
- Genitive: Malamāriī (when a Malamar is the owner of something)
- Dative/Ablative: Malamāriō (when a Malamar is used with prepositions, such as to, for, with, by, from)
- Plural
- Nominative/Vocative: Malamāriī
- Accusative: Malamāriōs
- Genitive: Malamāriōrum
- Dative/Ablative: Malamāriīs
- (I don't know how to set up a table yet in Bulbapedia's MediaWiki editor lol)
