• In Japan, this episode aired almost exactly one year after the episode where Ash's Froakie evolved into Frogadier.
• This was Mika Kanai's final episode as Bonnie. From the next episode Mariya Ise returns from her maternity leave.

Errors

• After Ash's friends notice Team Rocket, Dedenne can be heard despite not being physically present and Bonnie's bag being closed.
• After returning to the Ninja Village, the webs on both Ash's and Sanpei's Greninja's feet are missing.
• At the end of the episode as Ash and his friends walk away, the patch of brown fur on Pikachu's tail is missing.
