Okay, so, yet again, the page is cleaned, and thank goodness, man. Thank goodness. Way too big.

Anyone wanna do the Ash, Dawn, and Brock voices still?

Please?

TCG Trainer Card Infobox

Hi there - once again I've been thinking about something to do with TCG pages, this time Trainer cards, and I think the Trainer infobox needs a refit. Your input would be greatly appreciated on this matter. Cheers, Cipher 20:29, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

New Project

Hey, can I start a project on the Pokémon manga?--CoolPikachu! 23:02, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

...we don't have a project on the manga yet?! No wonder why PS barely gets updates! If you know what to do, go for it... TTEchidna 23:08, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Ok Thank You.--CoolPikachu! 23:09, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Prototype names

Is there a list of these prototype Pokémon names? I'm curious to know what they all are without having to search through every Pokémon article. Also, is this in regards to only Generation I Pokémon? ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 19:35, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

I know there's some prototype names for Gen II, but most definitely for Gen I. Gen III and IV, possibly, but their development was far more under wraps...
Maybe we could ask Doug Dinsdale himself? TTEchidna 22:27, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Form names

I recently purchaced the Pokémon Pokédex: Official Pocket Version guide and it lists the form names for the Pokémon with the differences in their forms. For Cherrim the forms are "Overcast form" and "Sunshine form" and Castform has listed: "Normal form", "Sun form", "Rain form" and "Hail form". They use no "e" at the end of form, however Deoxys' Formes do have an "e". I went ahead and changed Cherrim, but wanted to know what you thought about Castform since you had said the names that are currently listed came from the TCG. Other Pokémon like Shellos/Gastrodon and Burmy/Wormadam are the same as we have. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 16:10, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Copyright date on the book? If it's later than 2005, it supersedes EX Delta Species, the last set released that has Castform's four forms. I'd assume that, having Gen IV Pokémon in it, it's at least an '07 copyright. The problem lies with Legends Awakened, which comes in August... I'd imagine that the game ought to supersede the TCG by a long shot, though... Aren't Deoxys's forms named without the e on their cards? TTEchidna 22:30, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Not sure about the Deoxys cards, but the book says published in Japan in December, 2006. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 00:12, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

You should ^_^ CoolPikachu! 23:48, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
There's been rumblings of pages like this being disallowed in the future. I hope not, though. I have some GSDS predictions to upload once the ban's lifted, and other people's essays are always fun to read, too. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 23:54, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Well, if they are, I do intend to make a mainspace page without the snide comments detailing the parties at any given point... TTEchidna 00:01, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
I actually prefer the snide comments. I also like how you used the word "Oak" as a verb. I haven't read material this funny in a long time. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 01:28, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
Been a verb in this fandom for longer than I've been online. TTEchidna 01:44, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Vandalised Munchlax and then removed it. Don't know whether or not he should be blocked, but he's probably worth keeping an eye on. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 07:59, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Hm. If he does it again, definitely. Sigh. He uses the LTs, but he seems not to care about freaking punctuation and grammar. TTEchidna 08:09, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

EP012

In the trivia section of the page it says that Ash bites "Team Rocket's Tail" not Meowth's Tail. I would fix it but I don't want to screw it up. User:Rucario64

Also in EP032 the same problem appears saying Team Rocet instead of Meowth User:Rucario64
Someone used the {{TRM}} template instead of the {{MTR}} one. TTEchidna 22:19, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Question

Sorry, I'd just like to ask you why can you edit you user page? I know you have edited it because I see Ash's Gliscor, which is only debutted just yesterday. I am quite a new user and I don't know why I can't edit my user page. It says I don't have any permission. Anyway, Thanks a lot for answering. Please ignore my poor English.Dong 14:29, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

He can edit his because he is administration. They are the only ones who are allowed. MoldyOrange 14:34, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
(edit conflict)Only admins can edit user space right now. The general public doesn't have permission until something can be worked out to keep servers from crashing and people only joining Bulbapedia just to create user pages. Plus, admins only edit them on an "as needed" basis. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 14:37, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Thank you , I finally get it. Thanks a lot.Dong 14:42, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Jeez, man, where've you been the past three months? Userpages cannot be edited by users because of the abuse of them that occurred until we took the ability away in March. Since we've got a new server now, that's more powerful, we should be giving them back... soon. TTEchidna 23:07, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Generation III moveset pages

I don't really know how the coding for those works, so I can't figure out how to get the Generation III moveset pages for Mudkip and its evolutions out of the uncategorized pages. Is there a way to get them out before someone starts claiming they licked (or should I say lieked) the Mudkip Generation III moveset page? Thanks.

You started off the levelup moveset with {{movelisttm}}, which doesn't autocategorize the page. TTEchidna 20:07, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

Deoxys (movie)

Should there be an article with the name, "Deoxys (movie)"? I guess it'll be a bit confusing because there are two Deoxys in the movie, so maybe you can do "Deoxys (movie; purple crystal)" and "Deoxys (movie; green crystal)"? Or maybe you could merge them together and just do "Deoxys (movie) and write about both of them... I would make the article myself, but I don't know how I should do it. - spontaneousCombusken 23:53, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

Beats me, too, I never saw DD. I'd say one article's enough for the two, though. TTEchidna 00:13, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I made the article, but I didn't feel like writing everything. So for now, we have a very very short article. - spontaneousCombusken 02:53, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Manga

hey should the manga stubs be replaced with the project manga notice?--CoolPikachu! 02:50, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

When they're not a stub. TTEchidna 02:58, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
So if it says {{mangastub}} I can't replace it but if it doesn't say it then I can put {{Project Manga notice}}?--CoolPikachu! 06:24, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
No. If the article itself is a full-fledged article, such as the article on Red or something, then it can get the manga notice. If it's still missing some info, leave the stub template. TTEchidna 06:27, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Ohh ok thank you and night.--CoolPikachu! 06:31, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Can I join the cast you're talking about? I always felt like becaming a voice actor. Netto-kun Talk 17:37, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

How good of an Ash, Brock, or even, maybe, James, voice can you do? TTEchidna 21:02, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Abilities

You know how some Pokémon had abilities in Generation III, but gained a Generation IV ability? For example, Pinsir had Intimidate and Hyper Cutter. In Gen IV it gained Mold reaker and lost one of the others. For Pokémon witgh similar situations, shouldn't it be mentioned on the pages of the Pokémon and ability?--KukiTalk 21:36, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

I don't remember Pinsir having Intimidate... TTEchidna 21:38, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

My Mistake, but... there had to be many Pokémon that suffered what I desribed, so should we mention abilities Pokémon lost?--KukiTalk 21:45, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

But no one lost an ability. They only gained them. TTEchidna 21:57, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm sorry then, it just seemed like they did Sorry for any inconvenience--KukiTalk 21:58, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Nope, none did. If they gained them, they didn't change upon Pal Parking anyway. They'd have to evolve. TTEchidna 22:04, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Egg moves

While it's technically not hurting anything, isn't it a little misleading to have "moves learned through breeding" sections on the articles of Pokémon that do not hatch from eggs? I think these sections should only be found on the pages of the lowest form of a Pokémon family. With the exception of the Pokémon that had gained new prevos but can also hatch from eggs themselves. Just a thought. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 18:14, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Well, then it'd be a pain in the ass to see what Charizard could have. You'd have to cross over two pages to plan out its moveset if you wanted to use it competitively. TTEchidna 01:13, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
You're right. That's why I wasn't really for abolishing it. I just assumed that most people would look at Charmander first when planning a Charizard. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 01:17, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
May be the case for a Raichu or something, since those don't learn any moves after evolving, but ideally the Pokémon's movesets should list what THEY AS A SPECIES learn at every level, with no "previous" bullcrap. Remember, they've had it so you could get level 22 Electabuzz (which don't evolve from Elekid until 30) and level 8 Pidgeotto (when they don't evolve from Pidgey until 18). Start should be the lowest level. TTEchidna 01:22, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Okay. I always thought it weird that they would list low-level moves for Pokémon that could never be caught at those levels. Legendaries especially. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 02:09, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Well, know how you couldn't get Giratina until level 70 in DP? And in Platinum, what can you find it at? 47. Wouldn't it suck if you had to wait more than 20 levels to learn even one move? TTEchidna 02:11, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
Ah... I forgot about that. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 02:33, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Intense Fight name

We have an issue: there's a name conflict going on for Intense Fight in the Destroyed Sky which SP252 informed me of earlier today. Apparently, Sunain discussed the name change with Zhen Lin and Tsskiller, who I'm not sure have any affiliation with the TCG section. Regardless, read the argument here. Hey, Remember me?

Hey TTEchidna! Remember me, Theryguy512? I was just checking in. So how's the site going? I see you guys hit the 10,000 page mark (congrats!). Have u had any major vandalism attacks lately? I see that people still can't edit their Userpages (any end in sight for that? lol). Also, do you know if Tina and people from 'the good ol times' are still around? If I have nothing else to do over the summer, I may come back to Bulba. Is that okay?. Well, I better be on my way. I'll check in again soon. C ya. Theryguy512 01:15, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Okay, you did miss a bunch! We are no longer allowed to template our signature or have images in it, so you are going to have to put the coding into the Nickname field of your preferences. Tina is gone from bulbapedia, but not the forums if you would still like to talk to her! Eight of the users (Such as Magnedeth and Porygon-Z and myself) have made a gym league (found here: [1]). Userspace is banned...still. And, in your absence, I have taken leadership of some of your pages, such as Team Rocket's Mechas and your anime dex project. So, that is most of what happened; hopefully you will stay for a while! MoldyOrange 01:27, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Mr.Lucario

You don't. There's a ban in effect on it now, so you'll have to wait. TTEchidna 08:08, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
What?! no offence but thats silly. Whats the reason for this? And I see the same goes for signatures :P.
Mr.Lucario
Because too many people were editing their userpages instead of actually contributing, which is what Bulbapedia is for. You can edit your signature. Just go to 'My Preferences'. --ケンジガール 08:26, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Need help

I created a new category [[Category:Undubbed characters]], and for some reason the characters that were put in this category are not showing up on the page. I tried to figure out but nothing seems to work.

Sorry for bothering you. --ケンジガール 08:20, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Nevermind. I found a solution to the problem. --ケンジガール 08:27, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Here's my theory... it usually takes a moment or two for pages to appear in a category when you're adding it to a bunch of them at once by way of a template. I did that several times when creating cats like moves that cannot miss or moves with a high critical-hit ratio. But because you created the template, added it to a bunch of pages, and then put the correct cat on the template, it's taking longer than normal to add them all. The pages have the category on them already, they're just not appearing on the category page. If you want to keep manually adding them, go ahead, but I think that, in time, it'll get itself sorted out. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 08:29, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, it takes a while for templates to update across all pages, especially when their usage goes above 30 or so. So yeah. TTEchidna 08:39, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Lucario in Super Smash Bros. Brawl...

Hey I made this page.

  • Please post feedback and how it can be improved (Im not very good with coding)
  • Is there a stub notice (if so how do i put it on?)
  • Do you like my new signature? (File:Ani448MS.gifMr.Lucario)
  • can i have a userpage for my first contribution please?

Thanks File:Ani448MS.gifMr.Lucario 11:40, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Sorry to ruin your fun here, but a page on the Lucario in Brawl is unneccessary, as it is already covered in the Lucario article.
Yes, there is a stub notice. Just use {{stub}}.
Your signature has a picture in it, pictures are not allowed as per the signature policy.
No, you can't, as you've already contributed elsewhere, and unless you plan to wait a long time for a userpage, you'll have to edit elsewhere. Glinn Mgraw 14:15, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

*sigh* File:Ani448MS.gifMr.Lucario 17:10, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Hmm...

I notice that you only put Special Abilities as a level 3 heading. I don't actually agree with this, as I view Special Abilities as part of a Pokémon's physiology. Going on that, I would like to ask which actually makes more sense. Glinn Mgraw 11:28, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

I honestly don't know. I see special abilities more on level with behavior and habitat than with gender differences... TTEchidna 19:49, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
How though? Wouldn't a special ability be part and parcel of their physiology? Say a Pokémon can shoot lightning from its tail. Wouldn't that be part of the Physiology of that Pokémon? Glinn Mgraw 11:57, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm certain a bug in some complex code has emptied these categories. You're the only one I know of that could possibly hack that code and fix that bug. Additionally, a user called AnubisOracle thought the solution to the problem was to replace all content on one of these category pages with a list to serve as a substitute, de-categorizing Category:Bug-type Pokémon (one of the affected categories) in the process. Can this problem be fixed, or are we going to have to re-add them manually? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 15:52, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Fixed it. I forgot that the subtemplates of the Pokémon infobox categorized as well. They should all be recategorized automatically at the end of the day. TTEchidna 19:58, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

PMD2 Anime

Hey the Special has aired in the Netherlands should that be trivia(cause there is no sign of the US showing it)--CoolPikachu! 05:04, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Dubbed?! Well that's odd... Usually the rest of the world mooches off of our dub. TTEchidna 05:42, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Yea I know. lol--CoolPikachu! 05:42, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Should that be added?--CoolPikachu! 06:29, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
If you're sure it's the PMD2 special and not the PMD1 one... TTEchidna 06:32, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Yes.--CoolPikachu! 06:43, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
PMD1 never aired here, but I think CP is right. MathijsP 06:49, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
PMD1 did air in the U.S--CoolPikachu! 06:51, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

I live in The Netherlands. MathijsP 06:52, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Oh Ok lol sorry--CoolPikachu! 07:04, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
I've opened a topic on a dutch forum about this and someone said he had seen it. MathijsP 11:10, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Giratina and the Sky's Bouquet: Shaymin is airing saturday

And there will possible an generation V Pokémon appear in it. What do we have to do then? MathijsP 06:55, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Just wait till movie airs I guess TTE is either in bed or busy with something else--CoolPikachu! 07:04, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Busy with something else. Bed later. Like, two hours later. Making something for the weakness/resistance template. And if there's a new Pokémon in it, well, follow the freaking directions on my page! TTEchidna 07:51, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Wow are a late sleeper if you're sleeping at 5 A.M lol--CoolPikachu! 08:03, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Spanish Wiki

There's a user(User:Anthony) who says there's a Spanish Wiki(Bulbapedia) called Raltsapedia and is wondering with it should belong to the Encyclopaediae Pokémonis‎.--CoolPikachu! 08:57, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

A Spanish one, huh? Well, I've checked it out, and it does need to do a bit of growth. Get every Spanish-speaking Pokémon fan you can find and improve it, man. TTEchidna 18:24, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Ok--CoolPikachu! 20:05, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
But what do we have to do to make part of Encyclopaediae Pokémonis??--CoolPikachu! 09:38, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Make it bigger. Make it better. Make it like the other five members and Bulbapedia are now. TTEchidna 15:19, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Okay It'll be lots of work but ok--CoolPikachu! 21:11, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
One last question:How pages does there have to be?--CoolPikachu! 01:18, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Hmm... At least 500, I'll tell you that. Make the 493 Pokémon or others, whatever. As long as it gets a good amount of articles and contributors, certainly. Wouldn't hurt for Anthony to email Zhen or Archaic, either. TTEchidna 04:20, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Ok Thank You I'll tell him that--CoolPikachu! 05:49, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Catchtime Template

Could you please add the code in Template talk:Catchtime to Template:Catchtime. It would be extremely helpful to the Routes project and the template is protected. Admachina 19:51, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Hm... I guess. TTEchidna 19:53, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Rules Clarification

I was hoping you could clarify a few things I had questions about:

  1. What is the intent of the User_talk pages?
  2. Is it appropriate to list one's credentials, prior research, and methods of contact in one's User_talk page?
  3. Is one allowed to remove the standard welcome text from one's own User_talk page?

I made changes to my own User_talk page a few days earlier, but was quickly reverted. Requests for clarification regarding what rule I seem to have (egregiously) broken have gone unanswered, so I'm asking you because my research indicated that I ought to ask an admin. The relevant edit history is here and the ensuing requests for clarification are here. Thank you for your time. -Tsanth 23:35, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm not the one you want to clarify but I can say that the intent of User talk pages is not to be used as a sort of chat page but to be used as a way of discussing subjects about the website and/or it's contents. And if truly one does not wish to have the welcome template on their discussion page, it may be removed.~Pokemaniac102 23:41, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
  1. Communication with the user.
  2. That's sort of touchy, as there are rules against User page content on user talk pages. Things like contacts and credentials are, of course, not as bad as usertags or team pages, but considering I wasn't allowed to make a project page on a talk page, I'd err on the side of caution and wait for the userpage ban to be lifted before listing your credentials.
  3. No. Removal of any comments is against the rules, including the welcome message.
Does this answer everything? --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 23:44, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Removal of the welcome might cause someone to dump one on there again. So unless you have an archive, there should be a welcome. Check mine, I even got a welcome! TTEchidna 23:45, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Although it'd be best and beneficial to keep the welcome, you may remove it~Pokemaniac102 23:51, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Thank you, everyone, for your responses. From the perspective of one who's only recently begun editing in earnest, it would be nice to see this and other points of etiquette/by-laws/rules set in stone on a rules page somewhere. Even links to conversations which have established precedent would be welcome (and in fact, might be more useful!). It is more than a little alarming to be shouted-at for doing something as mundane as removing (what appears to be) boilerplate. I'll await the lifting of the userspace ban to add my other research pointers and credentials, and consider other places to put the welcome text where it'll be out of the way, yet accessible. Thanks again, everyone! -Tsanth 23:56, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
And you're welcome, though you should not have been shouted at for doing something like that. Though many other users attempted to do the same, which has constantly cause irritation to certain users. That is the likely reason that you were chastised.~Pokemaniac102 00:03, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Lindsayoris15

This user is being really annoying. He/She keeps starting new talk page articles either to ask questions or mentioning a piece of trivia. Plus he/she never signs their comments. I don't know if you could talk to them or something but that would be nice. --ケンジガール 01:33, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

And now she just created a sockpuppet. Helpe2. Doing the same crap. --ケンジガール 01:53, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Yup I already told him that on Aim~Pokemaniac102 01:54, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Unfair

Hi. Since you're an administrator, I decided to notify you (since I can get to your talk page from mine) that I think that it's unfair that we can't even make a page about a character we made up because it apparently be in the user namespace. I mean, probably HALF of us users made a good quantity of contributions, and pages about made-up characters aren't userpages. Please reply to me on my talk page. Palkiajosh 20:09, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

If we were to permit people to post their made-up characters in the main namespace, then the main namespace would be flooded with fanwanked crap that would make Bulbapedia a big mess. The User namespace is the only namespace where such characters belong. Since that's locked down, you're just going to have to wait until the lockdown ends. --Shiningpikablu252 20:14, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Hah, you think at 31 edits since you came last month, that warrents you to have a Userpage...rofl. I needed a good laugh!! So, thank you. MoldyOrange 23:36, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Only 31? Dude, come back once you hit 10,000. TTEchidna 01:44, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

How To?

I made a new Shipping article and I don't know how to mak it part of the project shipping. How do I do this? User:Rucario64

Add the {{Project Shipping notice}} tag.
The way I just did. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 23:53, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
...or, alternatively, the way SP252 just did. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 00:03, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Sightless

I think it's a sockpuppet of Lovely, the user you just blocked. And she's doing the same stuff again. --ケンジガール 01:55, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

He/She also is familliar. You may have heard this, but anyhow...there was a vandal under the username "Acidlava". This guy could be him or another old vandal...just look at the message he left on his own talk page...Shiny Pachirisu :) 02:08, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
I wouldn't read too far into it. They have very different MOs, and Bulbapedia attracts vandals the way a... a wiki atrracts... vandals. Yeah.
I'd also like to say that I was against the block on anon edits at first, but by now, it's made my BP experience 400% better than it would have been. I wouldn't have left Wikitroid if it were run this well. Besides, given how much effort it actually takes to create an account, it's about as much of a stumbling block as a rabbit is to a tank. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 02:15, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
I think SilliestHat is also this same vandal...Shiny Pachirisu :) 02:27, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
He left, I'll get someone else. MoldyOrange 02:28, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. Shiny Pachirisu :) 02:29, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Hey, do we have an admin on at all times? --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 02:40, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Sadly, no. MoldyOrange 02:42, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
All our admins are in quite similar timezones, so...at times there is often a gap between one admin being on and another being on, and a fairly big gap at that. Glinn Mgraw 03:06, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Anyone living in Alaska or Hawaii who wants to volunteer? TTEchidna 03:08, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
LOL.... Does the world end in the USA? --ElectAbuzzzz 08:37, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Well I live in California and stay till 3AM(PST) is that good enough?--CoolPikachu! 08:43, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Lock down Bulbapedia PLEASE

This is a big SOS mail!

We're getting a huge vandal attack. I was doing fine taking care of it myself, but now it looks like entire articles are being compromised and being turned into unrecoverable self-redirects. I don't think there's anything I can do. I'm sending this to all the admins I know so that this can be rectified quickly.

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Special:Contributions/Capulet

I would recommend locking the place down and fixing everything. Toastypk 06:05, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Actually, the pages are completely recoverable. It's pretty...strange.
  1. Go to one of those pages.
  2. Go to the previous diff.
  3. Click the redirect link and presto!
--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 06:26, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Meanwhile, can we like...immediately block Capulet's IP? I swear, people getting all political and asinine over registering to edit a Pokémon wiki.--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 06:28, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Blocking it would do wonders. At least we must start with that.

Also your method of reverting seems to work, but I can't move the pages back to their originals. "A page of that name already exists, or the name you have chosen is not valid. Please choose another name." Toastypk 06:30, 17 July 2008 (UTC) EDIT: Actually that method is only temporary looking and going to Weather Trio still goes to the bugged page. Toastypk 06:32, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Well, it proves the old page is retrievable at the very least; you can just press edit then copy and paste it to the current redirect page (worked on White City). I doubt it preserves history, but I also doubt we have to deal with accountability like Wikipedia.--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 06:38, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Awesome, it's working! But damnit, it's a shame to lose all that history. Not to mention that's going to be a lot of crap on my recent contributions... Toastypk 06:43, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

He's already undoing what you just did. Face it. We have to wait. --ケンジガール 06:49, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
What did I say about contacting me over my talk page, dammit. TTEchidna 06:51, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
I wouldn't know, I never read anything about that. I'm just trying to do what I can though. Toastypk 06:53, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Just undo all the fucking moves. I'm sick of this asshole. TTEchidna 06:55, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
I'll keep working on it. In the meantime though, can you prevent new accounts from being created at all? He's just making more and more. Toastypk 06:57, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Don't you need to delete pages in order to fix this? --ケンジガール 06:58, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Urutapu found a workaround. Unfortunately the page histories can't be fixed... Toastypk 07:00, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
NO WORKAROUNDS TTEchidna
YES I'M JUST HANDING OUT POWERS. TTEchidna 07:07, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Help

Hey sorry to bother but I'm trying to move pages but when I do they get a weird symbol in between some letters :(--CoolPikachu! 07:08, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

DON'T DO ANYTHING. TTEchidna 07:09, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Ok...--CoolPikachu! 07:10, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
I'll get Zhen or Archaic to fix it... I dunno how to stop new users from editing so I'm locking the damned database. TTEchidna 07:11, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Good Luck--CoolPikachu! 07:12, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
YEah. TTEchidna 07:15, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Why/ok

i get it but why did u block me? alright and i know u can force me to get off this website but thatd all u can do (just sayin) and now that im back i can explain why i think about ritchi ebeing from pallet and all ~~Ritchie

Do tell! But don't vandalize again. MoldyOrange 14:32, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
i dont get it how am i vandalizing!! im just saying - unsigned comment from Ritchie (talkcontribs)

Alright?Ritchie

You aren't vandalizing now, I meant don't vandalize like you did last week. MoldyOrange 14:58, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

How to bring the pages back

  • 1 Go to the history.
  • 2 Clck "compare selected versions"
  • 3 Click "previous diff" until you reach a redirect to an existing page.
  • 4 Click the redirect
  • 5 Click "edit this page"
  • 6 Copy everything.
  • 7 Go back to the most recent revision of the page.
  • 8 Click "edit this page"
  • 9 Paste everything.
  • 10 Save the page.

MathijsP 09:33, 17 July 2008 (UTC) I have been doing that, but then Zhen said in my talk page, "Please do not copy and paste article text to move pages." I'm guessing there is another way I have to do this.. Toastypk 16:36, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

There is. Undoing the moves, reverting his edits. TTEchidna 18:54, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

How?

How do you make those different pages (trade, archives, etc.) on your talk page? tc26 14:34, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Pokémon LV.X

...As they're named on Bulbapedia. I've been doing a bit of research on Pokémon LV.X on the official TCG website and I've found that we're naming their card pages incorrectly. Darkrai LV.X isn't called Darkrai LV.X: it's called Darkrai. The card lists on the site prove the point. Think about it: if that were actually the case, you'd have Charizard LV.67, Darkrai LV.50, and so on, as the actual card name. It isn't - it's just Charizard and Darkrai. Plus, when Darkrai levels up, the Pokémon's name is still Darkrai. It doesn't grow a LV.X. I know this to be the case now and that this is the official terminology, so ideally I'd like to go around changing this, but I'm concerned that there'll be some arguments from other members, as well as members reverting the moves because they don't know of this. I was just wondering if this should be done and if there was a "best way" to do it? Cheers, Cipher 16:51, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

The articles are named as such to avoid confusion with a regular card. Trust me, if we were to call it Palkia (Great Encounters 106), people might get confused and think it's a regular Palkia card and not the special Lv.X card. --Shiningpikablu252 16:58, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

User article help

I have been having trouble with starting my user page. Whenever I try to start my user article, a permission error comes up saying I don't have permission to edit pages in the User namespace. How do I get permission to do that? Pokeman21 17:47, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

You wait for the ban on userspace edits to be lifted. No one has permission but the admins right now. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 17:50, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Oh. I didn't know that. Pokeman21 18:16, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Should be soon. Meanwhile, Bulbagarden forums has a new blog feature... TTEchidna 23:14, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Oh, thanks for telling me about the blog feature on the forums. Hopefully the ban will be lifted soon! Pokeman21 23:43, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
