Welcome

Bulbapedia logo.png
Welcome to Bulbapedia, Gliscorguy54!

Here are a few links to help you get started:

The Manual of Style, or MoS, outlines the format of all pages on Bulbapedia.

Our friendly team of staff are here to help! Talk to them if you have any questions or problems with Bulbapedia.

On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~), or by using the "Your signature with a timestamp" (button_sig.png) button at the top of the edit window.

On Bulbapedia, the ability to edit personal userpages is a privilege. Per our userpage policy, this must be earned by first making constructive edits to the mainspace. Once you can, remember to keep userspace edits (edits to User:Gliscorguy54) to a minimum.

For a complete list of policies and editing advice, please see the Welcome Portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

When?

When will I be able to edit my userpage? I have a lot of info to put about myself about pokemon. Gliscorguy54 14:32, 23 October 2010 (EST)

When you make enough constructive edits to the mainspace articles. Bulbapedia is an encylopedia, not a personal social networking site. Your main concern should be to help edit the articles on Bulbapedia. Thanks. Jellotalk 18:37, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

I understand, thank you. Gliscorguy54 14:39, 23 October 2010 (EST)

Regarding your edit

What were you trying to do in the List of Pokémon with unique type combinations‎ article? ht14 22:10, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

I was just trying to change the amount of unique pokemon in the trivia from 21 to 22 after I counted the single ones. Gliscorguy54 22:12, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
Needless to say, you edited more than just that. Please be more careful in what you edit in the future. ht14 22:25, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

How?

How can I take a screenshot of my games without a camera, for things like changing the Neon Colesseum picture? Gliscorguy54 17:52, 30 October 2010 (UTC)

I think you have to take it with a camera. Just some cutouts, clearness change to correct color (if not already), and you're pretty much set. ... Well, if you can do all that.--ShinyEevee 20:50, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
I'll try it sometime. Gliscorguy54 20:54, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

Re: Re: Disambig

Well, it's not like I can avoid redlinking. The templates automatically create a Disambiguation page. Masatoshi: Gen. II>All. Discuss. 21:52, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

It auto-creates a link, not a page. You can avoid them by not doing it, since we don't need the links. Luna Tiger * the Arc Toraph 21:53, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
Try to create the Disambig first, then link it. And please stop with all the Re:-ing, it's getting on my nerves. Gliscorguy54 21:55, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Welcoming

You can welcome users by pasting this template on their talkpages: {{subst:welcome}}. This will automatically generate the welcome template and the correct time stamp and signature. Please use this from now on. Thanks. Jellotalk 22:14, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

No, thank you! Gliscorguy54 22:16, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
Regarding accidental creation of talk pages on user pages, just put {{delete}} on the page. Just be more careful next time. --rockersk08 19:46, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
I did them all, then realized and immeadeatly thought 'Oh crap!!' Gliscorguy54 19:48, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Christmas

Nope, I'm just as new as you are. Basically, I think Bulbapedia wants us revamping articles. And they're trying to bribe us with pre-release versions of Black and White. I'm just doing it for fun. Anyways, I digress. Simply edit an article to near-perfection (erase grammar errors, improve writing style, et cetera). Then go to that list of contributors page and type your name and the list of things you changed (provide a "diff" link, something that can be obtained in the edit history, "diff" meaning a difference in revisions between what is on the page after you "fix" it and what there once was). That's all you need to do, really. In terms of what I did, I revamped Kamitsure's "In the games" section and fixed a few minor errors in the Trivia. I also fixed the cruddy-sounding intro, but it was reverted to remain "consistent" with the other Gym Leader articles. - The Pokémon Master 17:40, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Well, I can't make the Template work, and when I clicked on your link, it hid about 6 revisions, and I don't know how to do that either. Can you tell me how you did that? Gliscorguy54 17:49, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
speaking of the Christmas contest, I saw that the template said my reservation on XD was expired so I changed it. Am I allowed to do that? Also, I added a new category to XD, and it went to the bottom. How do I move it up? Thanks, Catboy41

Yea uh....

Is it the policy on this wiki to delete a person's comment when they're not acting like, for lack of a better word, douches? I've posted some comments on talk pages trying to help. some have been wrong or not helpful I'll admit, but others have been helpful and have still been deleted (which happened on the Vulpix talk page). It's not like I'm spamming or anything, but my comments get deleted because what, a conversation is old? And this happens too if a conversation is three weeks old. Not everyone is on a wiki every day, so someone gets chastised because they join a topic that looks like it hasn't been settled, and if it is, is very rarely stated as a closed topic. I'm not calling you the problem, but I figure you're as good a person to ask as anyone else why people's comments will be deleted. In A Manica 21:50, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

It's in the talk page policy: Please check the dates of a discussion before you reply to it. Unless there is good reason for revitalizing an old conversation, comments on sections older than six months old will be removed. This is because by this point the problems cited will have been cleared up. Jellotalk 21:56, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
