Ash Ketchum (Japanese: サトシ Satoshi) is the main character of the twentieth Pokémon movie. Unlike the version of the character from the main anime, this Ash and the movie he stars in take place in a separate continuity.
He is a Pokémon Trainer from Pallet Town whose goal is to become a Pokémon Master.

Charizard appeared in the first Sun & Moon series movie, I Choose You!, as a Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard. Since the film is set in a timeline different to the main anime, its original Trainer was Cross rather than Damian. Also unlike the main series, Charmeleon (and later Charizard) consistently stayed obedient to Ash. Charmander's evolution into Charmeleon occurred from battling a Jigglypuff instead of battling Exeggutor. After evolving into Charmeleon, Charmeleon battled its former Trainer and his Incineroar, during which it evolved into Charizard, instead of saving Ash from Aerodactyl.
