Trivia

  • At the end of the volume, each Pokédex holder is shown with a summary of each of their Pokémon, illustrated with game sprites. For Red and Blue's Pokémon, their Generation I Pokémon are represented by sprites from Pokémon Red and Green. These sprites are also shown in the VIZ Media and Chuang Yi translations, despite that Red and Green were not released in those regions.

Localization

The VIZ Media release of this volume also includes the first round from Volume 15. This is because Round 180 is the final round of the Gold, Silver & Crystal arc and VIZ Media took a year and a half break before publishing the Ruby & Sapphire arc. A similar split was done with Volume 42 and Volume 43, where the last few rounds of the HeartGold & SoulSilver arc were moved from the beginning of Volume 43 to the end of Volume 42.

Pokémon is not the first series to have manga story arcs redistributed this way in VIZ Media's history. For example, two chapters were moved out of Volume 17 of Dragon Ball in order to localize it as the first volume of Dragon Ball Z.
