Paul's Torterra (Japanese: シンジのドダイトス Shinji's Dodaitose) is a Pokémon owned by Paul. It is Paul's strongest Pokémon and his starter as well. It is voiced by 石塚運昇 Unshō Ishizuka in Japanese.

It made its first appearance in DP040. It was used in battle against Cynthia's Garchomp. It was shown to be a strong battler with many powerful attacks such as Giga Drain and Frenzy Plant. But it was not able to put up a fight against Garchomp and it was defeated easily.

It also appeared in DP052 where it was used in a tag battle tournament in which Ash and his friends were also participating. It was paired off with Ash's Staravia and was up against Brock's Croagunk and Honoka's Farfetch'd. It was able to defeat them easily and Ash and Paul advanced to the finals.

Trivia

• Turtwig was revealed to be his starter Pokémon , and not Chimchar as assumed by many.
• This is the second time one of Ash's Rivals have had an evolved form of a starter Pokémon that Ash owns. The first is Gary who owned a Blastoise. It could also be noted that both Pokémon were the rival's starter Pokémon and they are both Tortoise Pokémon.
