History

Pre-series

As revealed in HZ018, Ludlow was with his student Friede doing some fishing in Paldea and owned the Brave Asagi as it was a fishing boat. After Friede befriend a Pikachu and caught him as his partner, Ludlow joined him in forming a group of adventurous, which would be known as the Rising Volt Tacklers. While at Slateport City in Hoenn, Ludlow and Friede met Orla as she turned his fishing boat into an airship, and had her join the Rising Volt Tacklers. Later, Ludlow would meet Mollie, Murdock, and his niece, Dot, as they joined the Rising Volt Tacklers. Ludlow also befriended a wild Quaxly as it often joins him on his fishing.

Pokémon Horizons: The Series

Ludlow fishing with Dot's Quaxly

Ludlow debuted in HZ001 alongside the other members of the Rising Volt Tacklers, sitting at a bus stop looking at his Rotom Phone whilst the other members of the Rising Volt Tacklers were looking for Liko at Indigo Academy. In the following episode, he was seen aboard the Brave Asagi.

In HZ003, Ludlow remained onboard the Brave Asagi while the others searched for Liko's Sprigatito, whom the Explorers had taken hostage, in the nearby city. Whilst fishing, he was unaware that Zirc had found the ship and placed a dispostive on the hull. In HZ006, Ludlow and Quaxly found the device and destroyed it so the Explorers wouldn't come after the group again.

In HZ012, to everyone's surprise, Orla took Ludlow with her to a forest destroyed by a fire. When they got there, he sent out his Quagsire and ordered it to use Rain Dance, moistening the ground and allowing Arboliva to regrow the forest.

Character

Ludlow seems to prefer his own company, as he rarely interacts with the other members of the Rising Volt Tacklers, preferring to go fishing instead. However, despite preferring to be by himself, Ludlow has shown to be very wise and would deliver advice to those who need it, especially towards the younger members of the team. Ludlow also doesn't mind having Dot's Quaxly hang out with him sometimes. In addition, Ludlow has shown to care about nature and would help preserve it in any way he can, as seen in HZ012, when he decided to help restore a forest that had burned down.

Due to preferring to be by himself, Ludlow won't leave the Brave Asagi that often, as he would stay and watch over it whenever the rest of his teammates were absent.

Quaxly is a Pokémon that travels with the Rising Volt Tacklers and belongs to Dot. Unlike the other Pokémon aboard the Brave Asagi, Quaxly often stays with Ludlow.
