Trivia
- This episode's dub title is a reference to the show business term, Typecasting.
- The names "Pierre" and "Marie" are a reference to chemists Pierre and Marie Curie.
- This episode may be a reference to the Sudowoodo blocking the player from passing through Route 36 in Gold, Silver, Crystal and later HeartGold and SoulSilver.
- The Magna Pacific DVD release for this episode incorrectly uses Pokémon Johto as the opening/closing theme.
- However some networks did originally air this episode with Pokémon Johto as the theme.
Errors
- It is stated that Sudowoodo must have been able to use moves such as Low Kick and Faint Attack due to Mimic; however, Sudowoodo is capable of learning those moves naturally.
- In one scene Ash's Noctowl's outer circle around its eye is black instead of light brown.
