Dark (type)

Some notable Dark trainers include Karin and Sidney of the Elite Four.

Battle Properties

Dark-type attacks:

• Are super-effective against: Psychic, Ghost
• Are not very effective against: Fighting, Dark, Steel
• Have no effect against: None

Dark-type Pokémon:

• Resist: Ghost, Dark
• Are weak to: Fighting, Bug
• Have immunity against: Psychic

Characteristics

Dark-type Pokémon were added in Generation II. Defensively, Dark Pokémon are not as good,because of their low Defense and Special Defense. One good thing about Dark types is that they completely resist Psychic types.

Offensively, Dark type attacks are usefulto have in battle. They can be used against Psychic Pokémon, because unlike Bug attacks, there are strong Dark moves such as Crunch.
