Shaymin (Japanese: シェイミ Shaymin) is a recurring Pokémon character in the anime, that is under the care of Mallow.

History

Shaymin first appeared in SM108, where Mallow picked it up and later decided to take care of it until it can change to its Sky Forme and fly away.

Personality and characteristics

During its time with Mallow and Tsareena, Shaymin has grown close to them. This was seen in SM117, when her headband was blown away in the wind, Shaymin chased after it to retrieve it. Shaymin is shown to be a compassionate Pokémon, being naturally drawn to other to feelings of thankfulness. It appears to be meek and adverse to fighting, as seen in SM117, where it cowered behind Sandy and Ash's Meltan when confronted by Team Rocket. But at the same time, its compassion leads it risk itself to help others, as seen in the beginning of the episode where it shoved Sandy out of the way of oncoming traffic, and later, when it cured Sandy of its poisoning. Mallow surmises this might be part of Tsareena's influence on it. It has shown to be playful in SM109, where it, along with Snowy, ran up to the sea and then ran back as a wave was coming in. Due to the fact that it has shown to be playful, despite only meeting Mallow the previous day, Shaymin seems to be a fairly outgoing and extroverted Pokémon.

In its Land Forme, Shaymin is shown to not be very agile, needing assistance from Sandy to climb objects such as barrels or boxes.
