Creatures, Inc.
Creatures, Inc. (Japanese: 株式会社クリーチャーズ Kabushiki gaisha Creatures) is a subsidiary of Nintendo associated with The Pokémon Company.[1] It was founded on November 8, 1995[1] by Tsunekazu Ishihara with assistance of Satoru Iwata.[2][3] Creatures is one of the companies responsible for producing and licensing various aspects of the Pokémon franchise, including the Trading Card Game and other merchandise in Japan. Creatures owns one-third of the copyright to the Pokémon franchise (the other two-thirds owned by Game Freak and Nintendo). Its current president is Hirokazu Tanaka, while Ishihara remains as chairman.
The company was founded after the Ape Inc. was disbanded, known for creating the EarthBound series of video games.
As of April 2014, 84 people work at the company.[1]
