- This is the first episode where a main character participates in an official Gym battle since Ash's rematch with Wulfric in A Real Icebreaker!, 358 episodes earlier.
- Similar to Ash in the original series, Liko lost her first Gym battle but received a reward regardless just like Brock who give Ash his Boulder Badge since he forfeited.
- The first eyecatch features Liko and Floragato, and the second one features Katy and Teddiursa.
- This episode marks the first time since Where No Togepi Has Gone Before! that Charm has been used in the anime.
