A Contest Pass is a key item used to participate in the Pokémon Contests. This item can be found in Verdanturf Town. In Pokémon Emerald, a Contest Pass is not needed, instead only the Pokéblock case is required.
Contest Passes also appear in the Pokémon anime. They are required to participate in Pokémon Contests to earn ribbons
