Chimler (Japanese: サルヒコ Saruhiko), known as Chimhiko in Chuang Yi's translations, is an Infernape owned by Pearl in the Pokémon Adventures manga.
History
Chimler was first seen when Platinum lets him out of his Poké Ball and gives him the Pokédex for her bodyguards and instructs him to give it to one of the bodyguards. Matching the description, Chimchar jumps at Pearl and gives him the Pokédex. Right after that, a flock of Starly appear and begin attacking the group, which results in Chimler, Tru, Chatler, and Lax fighting and defeat them after half an hour, much to Platinum's surprise, as she mistook the duo for her (apparently powerful) bodyguards. When Chimler, Wig and Piplup are training in Eterna City for Platinum's Gym battle with Gardenia, Cynthia walks past them and notices that the three Pokémon are about to evolve, after which all three of them evolve. Because Prinplup already knew the Ice-type move Blizzard (with a clever usage of which it was able to defeat the Gym leader), it was not borrowed for the Gym battle and saw little usage until she battled Maylene with it and won.
Chimler evolved from Monferno into Infernape in VS Staravia and Skuntank II along with Tru, which evolved into a Torterra. It is after this incident, where the two real bodyguards are trapped in an alternate dimension warped by Saturn's machine that Diamond and Pearl swear to take over the role of bodyguard and protect her with their lives.
