New Routes/Cities used in this section
Pewter City
Upon arriving in Pewter City take a chance to heal at the Pokémon center just north from where you entered. Up and right from the Pokémart for you to stock up on items and north of there is two entrances to the Museum of Science. The museum holds interesting information but nothing crucial to the plot. The side entrance lead to behind the counter where a scientist will give you an Old Amber, once you are able to get to Cinnabar Island you can restore this to get an Aerodactyl.
File:PkmnYMuseum.PNG Unfortunately Cut is needed here as well.
Trying to leave town by the east exit will prompt a man to tell you to challenge Brock at the Gym, he takes you there. Defeating Brock earns you your first Badge and thus advances the story.
Pewter City Gym
- Only one Jr.Trainer stands before the Gym Leader and is optional.

- Geodude shouldn't pose to much of a challenge for Mankey or the Nidorans with Low Kick and Double Kick respectively, if at low levels then be sure to use move like Growl or Tail Whip while Onix is using Bide.
Template:PartyHeader Template:PartyBody12 Template:PartyFooter File:Boulderbadge.png Defeating Brock earns you the Boulderbadge and TM 34 which contains Bide. It also increases your Pokémons attack stat and lets you use Flash outside of battle.
You are now able to leave the city by the east exit but remember to heal and stock up on items first. If you are a new player you might like to pick up a couple of Escape Ropes for the upcoming cave Mt. Moon.
Route 3
These Pokémon are catchable in the grass near the end of Route 3.

A colored background means that the Pokémon can be found in this location in the specified game. A white background with a colored letter means that the Pokémon cannot be found here. |
- It is highly advised not to purchase a Magikarp as this can be seen as nothing more than a scam. Once you have recieved the Old Rod you will never be short of Magikarp to catch.
- This is a list of trainers you will meet in the order most likely.
