Mewtwo can be seen in one of the Japanese trailers for Pokémon 3 ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=maL-tyDMux8 ). Ambertwo's death
When and where did anything ever say that Ambertwo and the other clones died from "exhaustion due to being a clone" in the birth of Mewtwo or anything for that matter. It is not explained why they die they just do to my knowledge, correct me if I'm wrong. Also, wo said the will of a human isn't as strong as the will of a pokemon? If thats truw then the Ambertwo should have died first, then charmandertwo, followed by Squiertletwo and bulbasaurtwo, and that didn't happen.Wikid 01:20, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
- As Jmath, JSFighter or anyone else has thus far not said anything to explain their added unlikely info, I have changed it back to what it last was. But I'm pretty certain that it never gives you the reason as to why they died at all, so even what I cahnged it to still seems rather wrong.--Tails Clock 13:27, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Computer Attack
Italic textA computer attacked and killed him to protect the scientists, but Mewtwo quickly regenerated and destroyed the island and everyone on it. Italic text When did that happen?
That computer most certaintly didn't kill him. It latched on to him and then Mewtwo just simply blasted it off of him. --いぬみみ 01:58, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
It apsolutely DID NOT kill him! Nor did it even intend to. Those robotic arms were ment to restrain him, not destroy him, but as InuMimi said; he made quick work of them. Artbender 22:45, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
Giovanni's?
I think the infobox shouldn't mention Giovanni if Mewtwo isn't referred to as Giovanni's Mewtwo in the title or the rest of the article. --Johans 19:49, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Gender
I don't think Mewtwo's gender should be "none" since it's unknown if genderless Pokemon apply in the anime, and therefore, not 100% confirmed. In fact i think it's very unlikely that it's genderless since there was a female (mother) Lugia in the series, so it should be "Unknown" (GT4GTR 11:18, 16 June 2008 (UTC))
- I think we should go a bit further and addend the "unknown" and add "likely male" since all of Mewtwo's voice actors (even the Japanese ones) have been men. Also, I believe Mewtwo was referred to as a 'he' in the anime; and in the article Mewtwo is referred to as male. -Lord Hyren 04:44, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
- Well, if Mewtwo was referred to as a "He" in the anime, go ahead and change it. However, I just want to mention that VA's aren't exactly a determining factor of whether a Pokémon character is male or female. I mean, Ash's VA in almost all versions was a girl, and Ash IS a Guy. - unsigned comment from Weedle Mchairybug (talk • contribs)

Ash's voice at least sounds male and that's what counts IMO. Same as Mewtwo. --いぬみみ 01:55, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- Even though I think Mewtwo is a male, unless it is confirmed, it should be unknown. Also, we need to remove the gender specific pronouns in articles where the Pokémon's gender is unconfirmed, such as this.--Starlight the ampharos 00:01, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
If Mewtwo's gender is listed as "Unknown" in the infobox, then why is he constantly referred to as "he" in the actual article? We should either list him as male in the infobox, or refer to him as "it" in the article. I'm not really sure which, because although I personally think he is male, I recall the characters in the anime referring to him as "it" several times. Taromon777 11:52, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- Remember that Giovanni did say "good boy" to Mewtwo as well in Mewtwo Returns. Nintenboy01 16:02, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Oh. Then maybe we should add it? Mewtwo's also referred to as "he" on the legendary duos page.--Starlight the ampharos 05:54, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

- I don;t think a party table is the way to go. If we want to, maybe we can just have a section listing the clones. --electAbuzzzz (TALK) 13:06, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Shadow Ball
Should it be mentioned that Mewtwo used Shadow Ball? The move was introduced in Generation II and Mewtwo was probably not even meant to use Shadow Ball. Jmath 15:50, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
It is already, and think about it, Harrison's Blaziken used Blaze Kick before Generation III began. Same rules.--KukiTalk 15:52, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

- Aura Sphere would not be created until 7 years later. How in the world can it be Aura Sphere!?!? Besides, it more closely resembles a classic Shadow Ball attack. Even the Melee Mewtwo had it as an attack. --ケンジのガール 05:35, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

It was the trainer's pokemon who were named Bruteroot and Shellshocker. That's why Ash said: "I don't have a name for it, but I will use Charizard." Mewtwo never had to speak to his clones, he just made a nodding motion and VenusaurTwo stepped forword to battle. Artbender 22:48, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
Other Pokemon
Shouldn't there be a table for other pokemon like the dragonite and the fearow that mewtwo used as service pokemon?--いぬみみ 00:49, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Disable
Mewtwo mentions disabling the special abilities of all the Pokémon just before the final fight. Doesn't this mean that it used the move Disable? And if so, shouldn't that be added to the Moves Used section? Mattachu
- Disable only disables moves, not abilities. Solar Dragon 16:57, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
- Tell that to Team Rocket in The Ninja Poké-Showdown Weedle Mchairybug 17:27, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
- But abilities weren't present in the first Generation, and judging by the fact that, for example, Charizard wasn't using moves like Flamethrower, I think that Mewtwo meant that it was disabling moves, hence Disable. Mattachu
- Well, it has been years since I last watched it so I can't remember that well. If you think that he did, you can add it until contested by another person. Solar Dragon 18:11, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Childhood memories
"The cloned Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbasaur look extremely similar to their cloned evolved forms. Mewtwo also mentions when it introduces them to Ash, Misty, Brock, Fergus, Corey, Neesha, and Nurse Joy that it also had a Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbasaur, and that they evolved, which hints that it may have cloned them from its childhood friends."
I am questioning this, because as far as I remember, when the first movie was done (July 1998 Japan), the prequel about his childhood didn't exist yet. The prequel story first aired as a radio drama (September 1999) and much later as a short anime. Furthermore, in the prequel it says that all memories from his childhood were erased. - unsigned comment from Aicona (talk • contribs)
- That "prequel" was part of the original Japanese movie that the failsacks at 4Kids cut to make Mewtwo "more evil". I mean, come now, we can't give something like that a heart. We can't make its anger be of misunderstanding. It's gotta be evil. TTEchidna 01:03, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
- Stares blankly at TTEchidna* Your being sarcastic, right? Mewtwo is not evil and his anger is of misunderstanding and hurt.
Anyway, I think it was mostly Amber he was focused on when they erased his memory, so EVERYTHING about her disappeared, but he vaguely remembered the others because they were not his main focus as they brain-wiped him. This is just my idea though, there's nothing to back it up. Artbender 22:54, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

Mewtwo's Where-abouts
Does anybody know where he is exactly? I mean anime wise. By the end of Mewtwo's Return it states he lives in a far away city, but I've also heard he's traveling the world. Has anyone heard any confirmed info as to his where-abouts? XDDD Yes, I know it's a stupid question but I'm a huge fan of Mewtwo. Artbender 05:12, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
- It can pretty much be concluded that Mewtwo is just traveling the world in solitude. There's not much else he can he do at this point. Showing himself to the world could be risky on his part so now he just watches over civilization from skyscrapers, world skies, Ect. --Lordrogersmith6485 08:09, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
I've heard that the city that Mewtwo is standing over at the end of Mewtwo Returns, is the city that amber was born in (the one that Ambertwo showd him in the Origien of Mewtwo short). I have my doughts that it's true but if anyone can confirm this it should be added to the trivia. EpicShadow 01:12, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
psychic balls?
seriously? no mention of the special pokeballs that mewtwo uses in the first movie? I came here looking for information about them, I don't even know what they're called. I'm guessing they're called psychic balls but since I have no information about them at all that is purely guess work and I'm probably wrong anyway. if any one has any info on this let me know
- The Poké Ball page would have been a good place to check. Its the third bullet down in the anime part of this section. It probably could be mentioned on the page, but if we put too much detail then we'd risk getting a play-by-play synopsis of the movie. Werdnae (talk) 04:02, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
I think I read somewhere on the 'pedia that the city is New York. Sooooo... Unova ?--WenGobou 08:44, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
Mewtwo Story Timeline?
Was it ever clarified exactly how long ago before the first movie did the 'Birth of Mewtwo' special take place? And for that matter, how long it took to create Mewtwo? --Lordrogersmith6485 04:30, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
Nope. It never said; which is probably a good thing considering Pokemon time is all messed up Artbender 13:27, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
Location
'At the end of the ordeal, Mewtwo erased Giovanni and his soldiers' memories of him, and decided to move throughout the world searching for the meaning of his life.' -- A quote from the article. Then how come in the location part of the infobox, it says Johto? I think it should be changed to Unknown. MAMOSWINEPwnz! (TaleOfTheToaster) 17:47, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
Error on Article
Quoth the article: "...Ash was caught in their crossfire and turned to stone. After Ash is revived by the tears of the nearby Pokémon, clone and original alike, Mewtwo experiences a change of heart and stops his destructive rampage. Wanting to find himself, Mewtwo erased the memories of those present and he and his clones left New Island for Johto.
A few years later, Giovanni found Mewtwo's hiding place via one of their satellites and began a plan to capture him once again. However, this plan was foiled when Mewtwo again met with Ash..."
If Ash is still 10 years old after EVERYTHING, the above statement about a few years going by is not possible. Artbender 13:18, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
It is mentionned several times in the anime that years have passed since a certain event (for example in PK07, when Ash states that it has been a year since he and Pikachu first met). The narrator says that Ash is 10 in BW001. The Pokémon anime is in a floating timeline. --WenGobou 08:41, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

I heavily agree with Kukitalk. I think that instead of one square showing Mewtwo's cloned Pokemon, that there should be a show button, with squares for each of them. Jdrawer 04:28, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

Mewtwo's attacks
This says that Mewtwo used Counter and Disable in Mewtwo Strikes Back... I don't remember either of them being used. I have no idea when he would have used Counter... and as for Disable, I guess that's referring to the fact that he stopped all of the Pokémon from using special attacks in the fight? I'll admit, that did happen, but I wouldn't say that that's "Disable". Disable "disables" one attack from one Pokémon, not all the special attacks of every Pokémon in range. Unless its effect differs in the anime (which is possible, since a few attacks have been shown to have different effects in the anime than the games). But another reason I don't think that it was "Disable" was because Ash's Pikachu was able to use an electric attack on Ash after Ash was turned to stone. If Pikachu was "disabled" then he wouldn't have been able to do that. Unless the disable wore off, but if that was the case I'd think that the other Pokémon who were fighting would have had their disables worn off as well and would have started using special attacks on each other. Dannyjenn 20:10, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- They were used. AquaMaster 20:24, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- What I was trying to ask... is when were they used? I remember the Counter now (he re-directed a Hyper Beam).
- But as for Disable, like I said, it wasn't used unless you consider everything I said about blocking everyone's special attacks to be "Disable". I don't think that it was... it seemed more to me like him using his powers to do so, but not specifically using any attack (like how he used his powers to make a storm, yet he wasn't using "Rain Dance"). Unless there was some other instance of him using Disable, but I really don't remember it ever being used. Dannyjenn 00:13, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
