Cherry and her Girafarig

Cherry (Japanese: チェリー Cherry) was the character of the day in The Psychic Sidekicks.

Her ultimate goal is to become a Psychic Pokémon Master. To prove her worth, she challenged Ash to a battle. Unfortunately, Pikachu caused her Girafarig to become paralyzed, and it fainted. However, Cherry was still determined to pursue her dream.

Not long afterwards, Team Rocket was using a giant mechanical Gengar to swallow all the Psychic Pokémon in Len Town. Using her Girafarig's Future Sight, Cherry was able to see what moves Team Rocket was going to use. This allowed Ash to defeat Team Rocket.

Ash and his friends congratulated her on her victory. Cherry vowed that she and Girafarig would not give up on become the greatest Psychic Pokémon trainer and team.

Cherry's Girafarig is Cherry's only known Pokémon, it is a tradition in Len Town that the people of Len Town must have a Template:Type2, because of the Template:Type2 Pokémon in the woods. It first appears when Misty's Psyduck spots its tail, it then comes out of the bush with Cherry and they introduce themselves. It then is used in a battle with Pikachu, with the help of moves like Future Sight it is nearly able to defeat Pikachu, but faints from Pikachu's Thunder.

Later when Team Rocket are stealing Psychic Pokémon with their giant Gengar mecha, it tries to use some Psychic moves, but are deflected. Girafarig is very weak, but uses Future Sight to predict the future. With great teamwork, Pikachu is able to dodge Gengar's tongue, and Girafarig is able to lift Pikachu up with Confusion and in the end sends Team Rocket blasting off. Cherry vows to make Girafarig stronger.
