I've noticed that the articles for cities and towns seem to lack a screenshot of how that particular town/city is depicted in the anime. I apologize if this has already been suggested, but I think that at least one screenshot could really add something to the articles, since even when you play the games, it's a tad hard to visualize how the cities actually would look like, for those like me who haven't seen a good chunk of the anime.

As the scope is right now, it's fuzzy regarding Orre &ndash; the scope covers "every city and town that has been featured in the Pokémon games" yet it doesn't mention Orre in the list of regions after that sentence. I assume this is just an oversight (maybe my own, I don't remember if I wrote the page or not way back when), since Orre's cities/towns easily fit the project's guidelines (see the recently cleaned-up Phenac City).
In any event, whether they fall under the scope or not, those who are better than myself at picking colors for the infobox may want to adjust those that I've initially put for Phenac and, eventually, the other four cities and towns in the region. --<font color="#CC0018">T</font><font color="#0000C0">M</font>F Let's Go Mets - Stats 03:26, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

"In other languages" section name change
An issue has risen about the fact that the "In other languages" section of the city/town article contains information on the English/Japanese names, and therefor are not "other languages". Dennou Zenshi suggested that the section should be changed to "Names". So, we will put up a vote. Yay, nay, or change it to something else
Yay (2)
If it stays as "In other languages", we have to make an own section for English and Japanese names, which seems pointless. I don't understand why we couldn't explain all name origins in one table. Of course we'll keep "IOL" section in pages whose all names are just translations, like Mt. Moon.----無限の知性 ◎ <font color="#BF0B17">DENNOU</font>◆<font color="#1250A6">ZENSHI</font> 08:28, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
Agreed. The "In other languages" section is used in the pages of Pokémon was only because the Japanese and English are already in another section (Origin), leaving the other languages in the another section, thus referred to as "other" (Example: Arceus). The moves and abilities pages also use the "IOL" section simply because the English and Japanese name aren't listed (Example: Thunderbolt). The format in the name table of cities/towns is also similar to the format of the name table in the character's pages (English and Japanese already included), which is why "Names" is used. Making a separate section is unnecessary since the name origin isn't as long as the those for the Pokémon. ---<font color="#990000" face="DFKaiSB">神智の</font><font color="#2B547E" face="DFKaiSB">超龍</font>「對話」 13:12, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

I disagree. Why? Because there are no other "Names". It should be "In other languages", because it is in other languages. And it's not pointless to have a section for the English and Japanese names. They both deserve their own section because those 2 are the primary languages for the Pokemon franchise. After all, we are on an English Pokemon wikipedia site. --Han Ji-Wan 04:37, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

*I also disagree with the "Names" section. It is misleading to the content it includes. I think something along the lines of "Name origin" would be more appropriate. I do agree that "In other languages" should not be used because of the inclusion of Japanese and English, but we need to consider why the Japanese and English names are in there in the first place: to explain what their names mean--the name origin, if you will. Would the project be willing to add how BGM tracks can be changed in Unova on city/town pages? For example, Opelucid:

My I join this group. I noticed that the Hoenn towns and city pages are fairly bair so can I focus more on those. I have already edited and expanded some pages like Rustboro and Mauville. Thanks all.

Sevii Islands

Should we add the seven towns of the Sevii Islands as well, when we get this started? Tom Temprotran 05:10, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

I believe we should, to maintain consistency. --TMF T - C 20:20, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
All right. But will... the city be known as One Island or Knot Island? Maybe keep Knot Island as a descriptor page for all of the features of the island, and One Island as the city itself? Tom Temprotran 05:53, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

For the top bar of the template with the city's name...

I had an idea. Perhaps make it changeable per city, so that the background to the text is viridian for Viridian, celadon for Celadon, violet for Violet, and so on. Maybe for the cities and such without color names, we could somehow figure a color out? Like Lavaridge, I imagine, would be some sort of reddish-orange, or even a dark maroon, Mossdeep would be a greenish-blue, and Pallet would be that same silvery-grey it was if you played Yellow on a GBC. Check out the list of colors on Wikipedia, I think it'll end up being a nice, aesthetic addition.

...sheesh. Staying up until about 4AM gives me too many crazy ideas. And even then, I can still spell aesthetic right. I should... quit for the night. Eh. Ah well. I'll be working on those route overworld maps tomorrow, and then when I finish Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sevii, I'll go on ahead and update the maps for the cities. Tom Temprotran 08:32, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

I don't see a problem with this - it would be easy to implement, too. Though I would ask that if this does get implemented, color pickers make their choices in good style and taste - for example, don't even suggest FF00FF as a title color. And remember, Bulbapedia's general style is with pastels... --Pie 08:51, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, since that'd be magenta. Same for the other compliments of red, green, and blue, they're a bit on the so-bright-it's-annoying side. I'd say for Fuschia, we'd have to use the darker one, F400A1, instead of the webcolor version. Looks better, anyway. Tom Temprotran 17:15, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Infobox

I'm going to tweak the appearance of the infobox a bit to resemble that of Bulbapedia:Project Locations and Bulbapedia:Project Routes. I don't have anything major planned; mostly just the widening of the box to 300px and the standardization of the font size. As always, comments are welcome. --TMF T - C 04:44, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Maps

The maps that we have for all of the Kanto cities are starting to show their age, IMO. With the new maps being created for all of the routes, I don't think it'd be too difficult to make new maps for the cities as well. --TMF T - C 18:25, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

I've noticed that the articles for cities and towns seem to lack a screenshot of how that particular town/city is depicted in the anime.
