The Tag Team GX Deck Build Box (Japanese: デッキビルドBOX「TAG TEAM GX」) is a Pokémon Trading Card Game product released together with the Double Blaze expansion on March 1, 2019 in Japan.
In Korea, a modified version of the box was released as the Tag Team GX Power Up Box (Korean: 파워업덱 BOX 「TAG TEAM GX」) on June 4, 2019.
Information
Deck Build Boxes are marketed as the perfect starting point for players wishing to battle competitively as they contain cards featured in many tournament-tried decks. The Tag Team GX Deck Build Box continues the trend of its predecessors, focusing primarily on popular Trainer cards from the Sun & Moon Era.
The Japanese Tag Team GX Deck Build Box includes an assortment of 49 Trainer and Special Energy cards and a Pokémon-GX card, Tapu Lele-GX, used in many competitive decks due to its Wonder Tag Ability. The remaining 108 cards comprise 12 copies of each basic Energy type for a total of 158 cards. The box itself can be used to store up to 750 cards. While the box includes no literature that examine the cards in detail, it does contain 10 Double Blaze booster packs, inviting players to integrate the latest cards into the base selection and come up with their own strategies.
The Korean Tag Team GX Power Up Box includes a number of Pokémon and Trainer cards used in tournament-tried decks. The Tag Team GX Power Up Box also comes packaged with an additional 60-card deck featuring Charizard-GX and numerous other Fire-type Pokémon, alongside a similar assortment of 44 Trainer and Special Energy cards in addition to Tapu Lele-GX, and 10 Double Blaze booster packs. The Charizard-GX is Holofoil as per its original To Have Seen the Battle Rainbow print, whereas Tapu Lele-GX is Non Holofoil. The Korean Tag Team GX Power Up Box also comes with an additional rulebook, a playmat, a sheet of damage counters and status markers, a GX marker, and coin not contained in the Japanese box. The Tag Team GX Power Up Box does not contain the bundle of energy cards found in the Japanese Tag Team GX Deck Build Box.
Both the Korean Version and Japanese Version of the set feature the same collection symbol (SMN) carried by all cards with the exception of basic Energy cards, however as the Korean Tag Team GX Power Up Box features an additional deck, the Korean set list features 43 cards as opposed to the 29 card list featured in the Japanese Tag Team GX Deck Build Box.
