The Card Key (Japanese: カードキー Card Key) is a Key Item introduced in Generation I.
There are three different Card Keys in the games:
- A Card Key to open doors in Silph Co., which is used in Generation I and its remakes, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen and Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!
- A Card Key to open a door in the Goldenrod Radio Tower, which is used in Pokémon Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold, and SoulSilver
- A Card Key to open a door in the Shadow PKMN Lab, which is used in Pokémon Colosseum.

Generation I, FireRed, LeafGreen, Let's Go, Pikachu!, and Let's Go, Eevee!
The Card Key opens various doors in the Silph Co. building, allowing the player to reach Giovanni on the top floor.
Generation II, HeartGold, and SoulSilver
The Card Key opens a shutter on the third floor of the Goldenrod Radio Tower, allowing the player to climb to the top of the tower and battle Team Rocket's Executives.
Pokémon Colosseum
The Card Key is needed to get into the east wing of the Shadow PKMN Lab.
