In the main anime, Nurse Joy take the role of the Pokémon Center nurses.

The contents of this section have been suggested to be split into Pokémon Center operator. Please discuss it on the talk page for this section. |

In the core games, Pokémon Centers are operated by receptionists and attendants that look like nurses.
In Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, a nurse named Casey (Japanese: メディ Medi) participates in Super Contests with a Chansey nicknamed Pinky.

In Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, the player character's mother used to be a nurse, outright stated by her during a Xtransceiver conversation. She has mentioned working at Nimbasa City and is implied to have worked at Mistralton City.
Receptionist
The Pokémon Center's receptionist (Japanese: うけつけのねーちゃん reception lady) is the operator standing behind the counter and beside a machine which is able to heal the player's Pokémon to full health.
In Pokémon Yellow, the receptionists appear under a different overworld sprite that better matches the official artwork of the time but which also bears a resemblance to the anime's Joy. She is accompanied by Chansey in every Pokémon Center.
In the Generation II games, the receptionists have red hair, except for the one in Fuchsia City, which has green hair. The second-floor attendants are also green-haired. The attendant on the Pokémon Communication Center's Trade Corner in Goldenrod City in Pokémon Crystal is instead blue-haired; she also gives the player the GS Ball after being distributed in an event (in the localizations, she is unused, and appears climbing down the stairs of the second floor when calling the player to give them the GS Ball).

Attendants
The Pokémon Center's attendants (Japanese: あんないやく guides) are the operators that guide the player in multiplayer functionality, like Link Trades and Link Battles, and which are usually found on the second floor. In the Generation I games, the attendants are instead found on the right corner of the Pokémon Center as there is only one floor.
An attendant named Teala appears in every Pokémon Center second floor of Pokémon FireRed, LeafGreen, and Emerald or in the basement in the Generation IV games, usually giving information about wireless communication to the player. She manages the items the player obtains through Mystery Gift in the corresponding Generation III games.

In the anime
In the main series
- Main article: Nurse Joy
In the anime, Pokémon Centers are run by the Nurse Joys (Japanese: ジョーイ Joy, referred to as ジョーイさん Joy-san by most characters).
In Pokémon Origins
Pokémon Center nurses made a couple of appearances during the Pokémon Origins mini-series, serving the same role as in the games. The first one was seen in Viridian City in File 1 - Red, while another one appeared in Lavender Town in File 2 - Cubone. Unlike in most other media, these nurses were different from each other and had different voices as well.
In the manga
In The Electric Tale of Pikachu manga
In addition to Nurse Joy appearing, several generic nurses appear in The Electric Tale of Pikachu, first appearing in Clefairy Tale. Nurses appear in a wide variety of outfits, which vary from city to city.
In the TCG
A Supporter card called Pokémon Nurse appears in the Expedition Base Set. The art on this card slightly resembles Nurse Joy from the anime, but has blue hair. The nurse appearing on the card also seems to have been based on the games' nurse, since the Trading Card Game is based on the games, rather than the anime.
A second card, titled Pokémon Center Lady, was released in the Flashfire expansion, both as a regular print and a Full Art card. Both have illustrations of Pokémon Center nurses from Generation VI.
Pokémon Nurse/Pokémon Center Lady Cards listed with a blue background are only legal to use in the current Expanded format. Cards listed with a green background are legal to use in both the current Standard and Expanded formats. | |||||||
