VS Cacnea or A New Story (Japanese: VS サボネア VS Sabonea or 新たなる物語 A New Story) is the 181st round of the Pokémon Adventures manga and the first of the Ruby & Sapphire arc.
Synopsis
The story starts in Hoenn region, where a wild Duskull, Volbeat, Beautifly and Cacnea are seen attacking someone. The person opens a Poké Ball, and releases a Pokémon that easily defeats them without being seen. The person is revealed to be Norman, the new Gym Leader of Petalburg City, who is being interviewed by Maryann and Tyler.

In the back of the truck, a young man named Ruby dolls up his three Pokémon: a Poochyena named Nana, a Skitty named Kiki, and a Ralts named Rara.
