The ex Start Decks (Japanese: exスタートデッキ ex Start Deck) are a collection of Standard decks for the Pokémon Trading Card Game released in Japanese on July 7, 2023, in Traditional Chinese on July 21, 2023, and in Korean on September 8, 2023. It consists of 1 deck for each type that exists in the Standard format of the TCG. Each deck is lead by a type-matching Pokémon ex.
Information
The product is a continuation of the Start Deck products previously released in the Sun & Moon Era and the Sword & Shield Era. Eight 60-card pre-constructed starter decks focusing on the eight Basic Energy types were released initially along with a special Random ex Start Deck (Japanese: おまかせexスタートデッキ Omakase ex Start Deck) which may contain any of the aforementioned eight decks plus two additional secret decks exclusive to the product. The secret decks are known as the Dragon-type Centered Deck (Japanese: ドラゴンタイプ中心デッキ Dragon-type Centered Deck) and Colorless-type Centered Deck (Japanese: 無色タイプ中心デッキ Colorless-type Centered Deck), which features the Dragon and Colorless types respectively. The secret decks were later made into standalone deck products with the names Tera Dragonite ex Start Deck (Japanese: exスタートデッキ テラスタル カイリュー ex Start Deck Terastal Kairyu) and Tera Greedent ex Start Deck (Japanese: exスタートデッキ テラスタル ヨクバリス ex Start Deck Terastal Yokubarisu), and scheduled to release in Japan on November 24, 2023 with a higher price tag of ¥660 including tax.
Overall, the product includes the following decks:
- Grass Decidueye ex Start Deck (Japanese: exスタートデッキ 草 ジュナイパー ex Start Deck Grass Junaiper)
- Fire Victini ex Start Deck (Japanese: exスタートデッキ 炎 ビクティニ ex Start Deck Fire Victini)
- Water Greninja ex Start Deck (Japanese: exスタートデッキ 水 ゲッコウガ ex Start Deck Water Gekkouga)
- Lightning Miraidon ex Start Deck (Japanese: exスタートデッキ 雷 ミライドン ex Start Deck Lightning Miraidon)
