After taking over the Pokémon Trading Card Game from Wizards of the Coast, Pokémon USA started a new set of Black Star Promos.
Information
Because of the high-profile events that some of these cards were available at, the Nintendo Black Star Promos are regarded as more collectible than those produced by Wizards, as they were harder to obtain and therefore much rarer. Some cards were limited to quite small print runs, making them especially sought after.
Trivia
- The "PROMO" symbol on these cards is much smaller than the one used on Wizards' Promotional cards.
- A number of these cards have two or more versions (with a holographic version or a special stamp from specific events). The cards listed here are the regular versions (before any alternatives were released), the other versions are listed in other articles.
