A Zygarde Core

A Zygarde Core is a cell-like component of Zygarde with its own will. On their own, they have little power, but by gathering Cells, they can create Zygarde's different forms.

10% Forme Zygarde contains a single Core, which only allows it to function for a short time.[1] Complete Forme Zygarde contains five Cores, as can be seen when its chest opens, revealing red, orange, white, cyan, and blue Cores. Its wings and tail each have their own Core that can act independently.[2]

In the games

Zygarde Cores are stored in the Zygarde Cube. They allow the Zygarde Cube to teach Zygarde moves.

In Pokémon Sun and Moon, five Zygarde Cores can be found around the Alola region, with each one unlocking a specific move, as seen below. In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, all five moves are already unlocked upon receiving the Zygarde Cube.

Location Core Move
Ancient Poni Path In the back of the bedroom in Hapu's house Core Enforcer
Iki Town On the porch in the northeastern room of Hala's house Thousand Arrows
Route 17 At the back of the Po Town Police Station Thousand Waves
Route 1 In the player's room, by the bed Extreme Speed
Konikoni City In front of the refrigerator in Olivia's room Dragon Dance
