Rafe (Japanese: リュウ Ryū) is a major character who appeared in Destiny Deoxys. He is the older brother of Audrey and Kathryn.

In the movies

Rafe and Sid in the Battle Tower

Rafe is a skilled Pokémon Trainer who came to LaRousse City with his twin sisters Audrey and Kathryn, as well as his friends Sid and Rebecca, to compete at the Battle Tower. On his way to the Battle Tower, he and his group met Ash and his friends. When Rafe and Sid participated at the Battle Tower, their first match was against Ash and Tory Lund. He and Sid won easily due to Tory's inability to properly command Ash's Torkoal in battle, stemming from his fear of Pokémon.

When Deoxys' clones began abducting people and Pokémon, Rafe was able to fend off the clones that came near his group with the help of his Blaziken, Ash, and Pikachu. Later, Rafe helped free the abducted citizens of LaRousse City. He also worked to restore energy to regenerate the body of the other Deoxys.

Rafe briefly reappeared in a montage in The Rise of Darkrai, which chronicled the preceding nine movies.

Character

Rafe is a calm and collected young man who thinks before he acts. He is extremely protective of his sisters and also cares deeply for his Pokémon and friends. He can become cocky and condescending after a victory, as seen when he defeated Ash and Tory.

		Blaziken
		Blaziken is the only Pokémon of Rafe's party shown in Destiny Deoxys. It first appeared helping Ash with the moving floors in the city. Later, Rafe used Blaziken in battle against Tory and Ash in the Battle Tower and won easily. Blaziken and Rafe battled the Deoxys clones while Ash and the rest of the group moved onwards to safety. When all the Trainers tried to manually move the windmills, Blaziken moved one alone by jumping on its blades, one by one, repeatedly. Blaziken's known moves are Blaze Kick, Flamethrower, and Overheat.

• Rafe's design is based on the Cooltrainer Trainer class's Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen design. The only change is the color of his hair and clothes.
