Lunatone (Japanese: ルナトーン Lunatone) is a Rock/Psychic-type Pokémon.
Pokédex entries
- Pokémon Ruby
- Lunatone was discovered at a location where a meteorite fell. As a result, some people theorize that this Pokémon came from space. However, no one has been able to prove this theory so far.
- Pokémon Emerald
- It becomes very active on the night of a full moon. This Pokémon was first discovered 40 years ago at the site of a meteor strike.
Name origin
Lunatone's name is a combination of the Latin luna, meaning moon, and tone, meaning shade or light, referring to not only this Pokémon's appearance but also its affinity for moonlight. It could also be a combination of luna and stone, simply referring to a moon-shaped rock.
Luntone is obviously a rock shaped like a cresent moon.
