Leafeon (Japanese: リーフィア Leafia) is a Template:Type2 Pokémon, one of the seven known evolutions of Eevee.

Biology

Physiology

Leafeon is a fox-like creature with some plant, dog, and cat parts. Its body is tan colored. It has one shade of dark brown that is carried out on the tip of its paws, as its eye color, and in the center of the ear. It has sprouts growing all over it, making it look more like a plant. It has a longer sprout of its forehead. Leafeon has a leaf-like tail.

Gender differences

None.

Special abilities

Leafeon can use any attack that Eevee knows with the addition of Grass-type attacks. As a fully evolved Pokémon, Leafeon can learn Hyper Beam and Giga Impact. It can also clean the air around it.

Behavior

Like most Grass-types, it is probably gentle. Seeing as it has not been seen yet in the anime, not much of its behavior is known currently.

Habitat

As an Eevee, it chooses to live anywhere it wants. From there, it can evolve to its surroundings. In this case, Eevee has lived in a forest and evolved into Leafeon.

Diet

Main article: Pokémon food

It gets its food from Template:M2; if there is no sunlight it will eat fresh leaves.

In the anime

A statue of Leafeon could be seen in The Rise of Darkrai. Leafeon makes a small cameo in the movie Giratina and the Sky's Bouquet: Shaymin.

In the manga

Mitsumi has a Leafeon in Pokémon DP.

Trivia

  • A Template:Type2 Eeveelution was long theorized to be a Pokémon that would later on be released, largely due to Eevee using all the elemental stones in the first generation except Leaf and Moon (Although Leafeon still doesn't require the Leaf Stone to evolve from Eevee).
  • Leafeon is tied with Umbreon and Vaporeon for the tallest Eevee evolution.
  • As of DP076, Leafeon remains the only Eeveelution not yet actually seen in the anime.
  • Leafeon is the only known Eeveelution to not have a special defense stat of at least 95. Indeed, it also the only Eeveelution to not have either "special" stat be at least 95.
  • So far, Leafeon is the only Template:Type2, along with Shaymin, to be based off of a mammalian creature.

Origin

Like most Eeveelutions, it has traits of foxes, dogs, and cats. It also has traits of plants. The plant traits resemble the leaves of a banana plant.

Name origin

Its name is derived from leaf. It also contains the -eon suffix, like all Eeveelutions.

Its German name, Folipurba, comes from folium, Latin for leaf. Its French name, Phyllali, comes from phyto- and feuille.
