Forest's Curse (Japanese: もりののろい Forest's Curse) is a non-damaging Grass-type move introduced in Generation VI. It is the signature move of Phantump and Trevenant.

Effect

Forest's Curse adds the Grass type to the target, in addition to the Pokémon's original type(s). If it is used against a dual-type Pokémon, that Pokémon will have three types at once. If the target already has an additional type added to it by Trick-or-Treat, that type is replaced with the Grass type. Forest's Curse will fail if the target is already Grass-type.

If powered up by a Grassium Z into Z-Forest's Curse, the user's Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed are raised by one stage each.

Generation VIII

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Forest's Curse cannot be selected in a battle.

Generation IX onwards

Forest's Curse cannot be selected in battle.

Trivia

  • If a Bug/Flying-type Pokémon is affected by Forest's Curse, it becomes doubly weak to the most possible types, with four double weaknesses (Rock, Fire, Ice, and Flying itself).
