Double Shock (Japanese: でんこうそうげき Double Lightning Attack) is a damage-dealing Electric-type move introduced in Generation IX. It is the signature move of Pawmot.

Effect

If used by an Electric-type Pokémon, Double Shock will inflict damage to the target and cause the user to lose its Electric type. Double Shock fails if the user is not Electric-type, making the move always fail after the first use until the Pokémon regains its Electric type (either by switching out, or other type changing effects such as through Protean or Reflect Type).

If the user is a pure Electric-type Pokémon, it will become typeless.

The Pokémon's type reverts to its default types if it is switched out.

A Pokémon with Protean or Libero cannot successfully use Double Shock unless it already is Electric-type; otherwise, Double Shock will fail and Protean or Libero will not activate.

A Pokémon that has Terastallized into its Electric Tera Type will not lose its Electric type (although the message "The <wild/opposing> <Pokémon> used up all its electricity!" is still displayed). Therefore, a Terastallized Pokémon can use Double Shock multiple times in a row without the need to switch out.

Description

Games Description
SV The user discharges all the electricity from its body to perform a high-damage attack. After using this move, the user will no longer be Electric type.
