Doom Desire (Japanese: はめつのねがい Doom Desire) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation III. It is Jirachi's signature move and can be said to be a more powerful version of Future Sight.

Effect

Generation III

On the turn Doom Desire is selected, this attack will do nothing other than state that the user has chosen Doom Desire as its destiny. Two turns later, Doom Desire will do damage against the target, using the Attack stat of the user and Defense stat of the target at the time of use (not at the time the attack actually hits; if the target is switched out, the attack will hit its replacement). Although Doom Desire is a Steel-type attack, it will not take type into account, ignoring weaknesses, immunities and resistances. Therefore, it does not get STAB. Furthermore, Doom Desire cannot cause a critical hit.

Doom Desire can hit through Wonder Guard, Protect, and Detect. However, Protect or Detect will stop Doom Desire if used on the turn Doom Desire is first used. It can knock-out a target that used Endure but one using Focus Band may be able to survive.

Doom Desire cannot be used on a target multiple times; it must complete before it may be used on a target again. Future Sight and Doom Desire cannot be stacked.

When Doom Desire misses, the miss will not occur until the third turn, and it will say "it failed".

Generation IV

Same as Generation III, but its damage is calculated by the user's Special Attack stat and the target's Special Defense instead. Its damage is not increased by Life Orb and it cannot make a Pokémon wearing a Focus Sash that has full HP to faint.

Generation V

Doom Desire's power changed from 120 to 140, and its accuracy changed from 85% to 100%.

Furthermore, Doom Desire is now a Template:Type2 attack that will take typing into account and can therefore receive STAB. Doom Desire no longer uses the Special Defense stat of the targeted Pokémon, but instead the Special Defense of the hit Pokémon.

Jirachi Jirachi's body starts to glow silver to charge the attack. Then, it starts to glow a very bright light and it flies up and raises the opponent into the air and it leaves behind a streak of white light, like a comet. It then lets off pulses of a multitude of colors and soars farther into the sky. Once it is high enough, it lets off an explosion. Finally, a meteor shower is released from the explosion.
