Compound Eyes (Japanese: ふくがん Compound Eyes), formatted as Compoundeyes prior to Pokémon X and Y, is an Ability introduced in Generation III. All Pokémon that have this Ability are Bug types.
Effect
In battle
Compound Eyes raises accuracy by 30% of a move's original accuracy in battles. This means that Thunder, for example, has 91% accuracy as opposed to the usual 70% (70 x 1.3 = 91%). A move with a theoretical accuracy of 77% or higher will have its accuracy set to 100% (77% x 1.3 = 100.1%).
Outside of battle
In Pokémon Emerald and Generation IV, if a Pokémon with the Ability leads the party, even if it has fainted, the chance of finding a Pokémon in the wild holding an item increases by 50% of the original chance.
Since Generation V, if a Pokémon with the Ability leads the party, even if it has fainted, the chance of finding a Pokémon in the wild holding an item increases from 50%/5%/1% to 60%/20%/5%.
