(Japanese: ヒコザル Hikozaru) is a Fire-type Pokémon. Along with Naetle and Pochama, it is one of the three starter Pokémon the player receives at the beginning of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.
Hikozaru comes with the ability Blaze, which increases the power of Fire-type attacks by 50% once the Pokémon has less than one-third of its maximum HP.
Hikozaru evolves into Moukazaru at Level 16, and evolves into Goukazaru in the mid-30 levels.

Hikozaru first appeared in DP001. The little fire-monkey was teasing Pocchama after stealing food from it. Pocchama then started firing a Bubble attack, but Hikozaru kept jumping out of the way. Mukuhawk was hit in Pocchama's line of fire and created a Whirlwind that wrecked everything in Professor Nanakamado's lab. Hikozaru jumped out of a broken window with Pocchama chasing after it.
Shinji's Hikozaru first appeared in DP003.
