Amarys (Japanese: ネリネ Nerine) is a character introduced in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. She is a student attending Blueberry Academy, where she serves as president of the student council,[1] and a member of the BB League Elite Four.
In the core series games
Amarys has a formal way of speaking and uses robotic movements. She maintains a reserved, cool exterior, but deep down, she also really cares about her friends. She is good friends with Carmine, and shows a great deal of concern for Kieran.[2][3] She is ranked as the second-lowest Elite Four member in Blueberry Academy, situated at Canyon Plaza.
The player first encounters Amarys at Central Plaza, having a talk with Carmine before leaving. When she's later met again in the Blueberry Academy Cafeteria, she objects to letting the player enter the BB League, but is ultimately outvoted. Her Elite Trial is called the Flying Time Trial, in which the player must clear a flying trial within a certain amount of time. In order to complete this trial, she feeds KoraidonS/MiraidonV with a supplement that allows it to fly for the duration of the trial. After the trial has been cleared, Amarys can be battled. She rewards the player with TM225 (Hard Press) upon being beaten.
After the player has completed the main story of The Indigo Disk, Amarys gives them more supplements to feed to KoraidonS/MiraidonV whenever they want to fly with it, only for it to gobble up all the supplements in one go, gaining the permanent ability to fly. Amarys also informs the player that a harder version of the Flying Time Trial is now available for them to try, should they so choose.
Pokémon
Amarys keeps her Pokémon in Heavy Balls. She sends out her Metagross last and will Terastallize it at the first opportunity.
Traded to the player
Upon the third unique interaction with Amarys in the League Club Room, she will trade a Skarmory to the player in exchange for almost any Pokémon excluding Shiny, Legendary, or Mythical Pokémon.

- Amarys mistakenly believes KoraidonS/MiraidonV is called “Agias” (Japanese: アギャッス Agyas), due to its cry sounding as such.
