Happiny (Japanese: ピンプク Pinpuku) is a Template:Type2 baby Pokémon.
She evolves into Chansey via level-up holding an Oval Stone, who evolves into Blissey via happiness.
Biology
Physiology
Happiny is a small Pokémon that is shaped like an egg. A Happiny has a soft, smooth light pink body. At the top of her head is a curly pigtail-like outgrowth that looks like hair, but has the same color and texture as her body. She has three round bumps on her forehead. Unlike her evolved forms, whose pouches are small and on their stomachs, her pouch surrounds the lower half of her body. In fact, it is the lower half of her body. The pouch resembles a diaper. It is red with a white stripe around its top. The pouch is rubbery and flexible, enabling the Happiny to put things into it with ease. Happiny are still babies and they cannot produce eggs yet. To make up for this, a Happiny will carry a white egg-shaped stone in her pouch to imitate Chansey and Blissey. However, if a Happiny carries an Oval Stone, she will be capable of evolving and then will be able to lay eggs of her own.
Gender differences
Happiny is female only with no male counterpart.
Special abilities
In the anime, Happiny are shown to be extremely strong. Brock's has been seen lifting very heavy things above her head. Additionally, Happiny's field move in Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, Crush, may also link to this.
Behavior
Happiny has a fascination for anything white and round. As such, she has the aforementioned habit of carrying a smooth white stone in her pouch to imitate her evolved forms. She may cry if she doesn't have a stone to hold. This usually occurs after birth, because all Happiny are born without stones in their pouches.

Trivia
- Due to the three lumps at the front of her head and her pigtail-like outgrowth, she bears a resemblance to Nurse Joy.
- Happiny is the only Pokémon to date with a catch rate of 130.
- Happiny, along with Chansey, has the lowest base stat for both Attack and Defense in the games.
- Happiny is the fourth Pokémon to like round things; the first three being Meowth, Quagsire, and Sealeo.
- Strangely, all these were introduced in different generations, respectivly.
- Happiny has the highest base experience yield of all Pokémon, tied with its evolutions Chansey and Blissey and Arceus. That means a Happiny would yield 13,933 experience points when defeated if it is at level 100 and belongs to a Trainer.
- Happiny, and her evolution family, Chansey and Blissey, have the most in-game items associated with them (with the exception of Arceus). These include: Lucky Punch, Lucky Egg, Luck Incense and the Oval Stone.
- Happiny and the other members of her evolution family share the same abilities as both forms of Shaymin.
Origin
Happiny shares a few characteristics with infants, such as her soft skin and diaper-like pouch.
Name origin
Pinpuku may be derived from the Japanese word ピンク pinku, meaning pink, the color that this Pokémon is, and 福 fuku, good fortune. Happiny is derived from the words happiness and tiny.
