Walkthrough:The Isle of Armor/Part 5

Isle of Armor

At this point, your starter Pokémon will probably have evolved into its final form. You can use this opportunity to head back to the Isle of Armor and into the Dojo. Go into the kitchen on the left-hand side and talk to the student there who will explain about how Max Soup works. It’s made using three Max Mushrooms, and grants certain Pokémon their Gigantamax forms. It can also do the opposite to a Pokémon that’s already able to Gigantamax, and return it to its regular Dynamax form.

There are a limited number of Pokémon that are able to Gigantamax, but your starter is one of them, providing it has fully evolved. If you haven’t used the Max Mushrooms you collected during the trials earlier, you’ll have exactly enough to make one portion of Max Soup which you can feed your partner Pokémon to give them the capability to Gigantamax. There’s a book on the shelf in the kitchen that lists all Pokémon capable of Gigantamaxing. Don’t worry if you don’t have three Max Mushrooms, or if you want more so that your other Pokémon can Gigantamax as well. They respawn throughout the Forest of Focus, Warm-Up Tunnel, Brawlers' Cave, and Courageous Cavern, though you need to take part in three Max Raid Battles to get one to spawn.

Get the student to whip up a portion of Max Soup and feed it to your starter, or any other Pokémon of choice, and enjoy Gigantamaxing! That’s all we can do in the Isle of Armor for the time being, so head back to the mainland and Stow-on-Side to embark on the next portion of your Gym Challenge.
