Walkthrough:Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire/Part 20

This is the Bulbapedia walkthrough for Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire.
These pages follow the original Game Boy Advance iteration, not Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The guide for those games can be found here.

Route 105

Route 105
Island Cave

Route 105 leads south from Route 104 to Route 106. Though it was first accessible on the voyage with Mr. Briney, it was impossible to explore the area.

Island Cave

The Island Cave is housed in a mysterious rock formation encircled by six large stones, located on an isolated island.

Chamber 1

Inside, the first chamber bears an inscription on the north wall.

Stand motionless in the same spot for two minutes. This causes part of the wall to crumble away, revealing a doorway.

Chamber 2

In the middle of the second chamber sits Regice, one of the legendary giants.

VS Regice

Begin with Fighting-, Rock-, and Steel-type attacks to wear its health down quickly, then follow up with Ice-type moves to weaken it further. Its Special Defense is incredibly high, so special moves will have little effect.

Route 107

Route 107

Route 107 runs eastward from Dewford Town to Route 108. The children of Dewford Town practice long-distance swimming in these waters. Though it was first accessible on the voyage with Mr. Briney, it was impossible to explore the area.

Route 108 runs eastward from Route 107 and Route 109. An Abandoned Ship can be seen run aground in the northern shallows. Though the route was first accessible on the voyage with Mr. Briney, it was impossible to explore the area.

Abandoned Ship

The Abandoned Ship was originally known as the S.S. Cactus. The aging vessel has many broken doors and crumbling floors. Once slated for demolition, the half-sunken vessel now exists as a refuge for water-dwelling Pokémon.

Exterior

Climb the stairway and enter the eastern doorway on the lower level.

1F (East)

Three of the four cabins here are connected. Visit the isolated northwest cabin to find a Harbor Mail, then go down the stairs in the northeast corner.

B1F (East)

Visit the north-central cabin to collect a Dive Ball, and the southwest cabin for an Escape Rope. Climb up the stairs in the northwest corner.

1F (West)

Enter the north cabin to grab a Revive. Exit the cabin, then use the floormat to the south to reach the exterior of the ship.

Exterior

Climb up the upper stairway and enter the Captain's office.

Captain's office

There is a Scientist here examining blueprints of the ship, investigating the wreckage on behalf of Captain Stern. The captain has asked him to find a special Scanner, but he has so far been unsuccessful. Collect the Storage Key from the southwest corner, then return to the basement level.

B1F (East)

Examine the locked door to the northeast cabin to insert the Storage Key. The door opens, but the key becomes stuck in the lock and is left behind. Pick up TM13 (Ice Beam) from inside, then visit the south-central cabin. Seawater has flooded a large part of the room, so use Dive to explore below.

Underwater

Swim westward and enter a small room to the north, then use Dive again to surface in an isolated area near the front of the ship.

B1F (West)

This area houses six cabins. From left to right, Rooms 1 to 3 are located on the south side, and Rooms 4 to 6 are located on the north side. Rooms 1, 2, 4, and 6 are locked, and debris in Room 5 blocks the doorway.

Room 3

Begin by visiting Room 3. Immediately upon entering, something sparkling catches your eye; this signifies a hidden item. Examine the northeast corner to find the source: the Rm. 1 Key. Collect the Water Stone and exit the cabin.

Room 1

Examine the door to insert the Rm. 1 Key. Like before, the key becomes stuck and remains in the lock. Another sparkling item can be found near the west wall: the Rm. 4 Key. The other sparkling item is only a bit of trash. Pick up TM18 (Rain Dance) from the middle of the room, and exit the cabin.

Room 4

Three sparkling items can be found here. The two to the east are only trash, but examine the trash can in the northwest corner to find the Rm. 6 Key.

Room 6

Enter the cabin and pick up the Luxury Ball, then follow the narrow hallway to reach the adjoining cabin.

Room 5

Room 5 holds three sparkling bits of trash, but a fourth item, the Rm. 2 Key, lies three steps south of the left-hand trash can.

Room 2

Visit Room 2 and collect the Scanner for Captain Stern's assistant. Return to the Captain's office and show it to him, and he asks if you would deliver it to Stern in Slateport Harbor for him, as he must continue his investigation of the ship.

Slateport City

Slateport Harbor

Visit the harbor building and speak to Captain Stern. He notices the Scanner right away and asks if you would trade something for it, as it would be useful for his deep-sea research. He offers the choice between two items: the DeepSeaTooth and DeepSeaScale.

Both items are associated with Clamperl; the DeepSeaTooth doubles its Special Attack when held, while the DeepSeaScale does the same for its Special Defense.

In addition, when held by Clamperl and the Pokémon is traded away, each item induces a separate Evolution. The DeepSeaTooth triggers Clamperl's Evolution into Huntail, while the DeepSeaScale causes it to evolve into Gorebyss instead.

Take two steps eastward and two steps southward, then use Strength. This causes part of the wall to crumble away, revealing a doorway.

Chamber 2

In the middle of the second chamber sits Regirock, one of the legendary giants.

VS Regirock

Begin with Grass- and Water-type attacks to wear its health down quickly, then follow up with Flying-type moves to weaken it further. Its physical Defense is incredibly high, so avoid using physical moves.

Move to the center of the chamber, then use Fly. This causes part of the wall to crumble away, revealing a doorway.

Chamber 2

In the middle of the second chamber sits Registeel, one of the legendary giants.

VS Registeel

Both its physical Defense and Special Defense are very high, so begin by using Fighting-, Fire-, and Ground-type attacks to wear its health down quickly. After that, follow up with moves of types that it resists, like Grass and Rock, to weaken it further.
