Dog Meet Dog
As soon as you leave the fight with Rintaro and exit the restaurant, you can see Zygarde standing in front of you. Emma will immediately call you and launch the next mission Main Mission 09: Chase That Mysterious Pokémon! As the name suggests you should chase Zygarde through the streets, and even though your dash is disabled, it stops often so you shouldn’t worry about it too much.
When Emma says she’s almost caught up to you, Zygarde will teleport you to the rooftops. Here you will find an Absol surrounded by a pink aura. Emma and AZ have caught up to you but can’t get to the top of the building without Zygarde’s help. AZ says that you will need a Mega Ring, and tells his Lucario to deliver it to you so that you can battle this Rogue Mega Evolution.
Taming the beast
Rather than having you battle on the rooftops, the battle against Mega Absol takes place in a circular arena. Don’t worry that you don’t have a Mega Pokémon ye, as you won’t be able to use any of your own Pokémon for this one anyway. Instead, AZ will let you use his Lucario for the battle.
Instruct Lucario to attack Absol, and while it won’t do much damage, it will release orbs of Mega Power. During the battle you have to run around and gather these orbs. Once your Mega Gauge is full, you can click the right stick and Mega Evolve Lucario. This is when Lucario will begin doing meaningful damage. However, the gauge will run down as you fight so you will need to pick up more orbs to keep the gauge topped up. The main thing you have to watch out for is Absol’s Dark Pulse, where you should run to the edge of the arena.
Lucario’s best move for this fight is Aura Sphere, though Rock Smash and Bullet Punch are also good to weave in, particularly given Bullet Punch’s speed. Protect can be useful, but the dangerous Dark Pulse attack is too long to protect against fully so be careful. Dark Pulse will do continuous damage, and while it is not very effective against Lucario the damage will add up. You can use Potions from your backpack if you’re in a pinch.
Gone Rogue
After Absol has been felled you will be rewarded with the Absolite. Urbain/Taunie then shows up, and Emma catches them up on what has happened. Apparently wild Pokémon have been Mega Evolving randomly and without a trainer. This is painful for those Pokémon, and it's becoming a real problem in Lumiose City.
Absol will then approach you and join you as thanks for saving it from the Rogue Mega Evolution. With everyone congratulating you for a job well done, Main Mission 09 will be completed and you’ll return to Hotel Z.
