By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Speculation

Just a friendly suggestion, but you might want to hold off on adding speculations and assumptions to the mainpages, especially for an upcoming Generation. It is usually best to wait until official confirmation on these types of things. ;) ----NateVirus(Talk|Contributions) 17:58, 12 May 2016 (UTC)

I understand. I don't try to put speculation, I try putting together as many facts as possible to make a good inference of what something is.

New pages

Please do not create new pages in the mainspace, especially ones with as little content as the one you just made. Instead, you may create a page in your userspace, at User:Theexploringgamer/<pagename>. Thank you. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 17:47, 16 May 2016 (UTC)

That page is made for speculation facts. Like a "What We Know" Page. - unsigned comment from Theexploringgamer (talkcontribs)
Regardless, do not just create it in the mainspace first; it is unapproved. --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 17:51, 16 May 2016 (UTC)

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! --Tiddlywinks (talk) 17:53, 16 May 2016 (UTC)

New game speculation

It's totally understandable that you're excited about the new Pokemon games. But please try to keep in mind that, as a rule, we want to avoid speculation on Bulbapedia. This means things must generally have explicit and official confirmation. We don't assume romanized names, we don't assume that a trademark will be used (or how), we don't assume National 'dex numbers. We wait until official information is released that explicitly tells us these things for sure. I hope you can understand. Thanks! Tiddlywinks (talk) 20:52, 11 June 2016 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but I assumed as a Pokemon fan, you would understand and know how Pokemon does things. Clearly, starters are ALWAYS the first Pokemon of National Dex numbers. The only time this proved not true was when Victini was No.000. But, did you notice how Victini, because it was No.000 became 494? See, it's just inference. Why WOULDN'T Rowlet be #722? Theexploringgamer (talk) 20:54, 11 June 2016 (UTC)
In fact, it's not even me "assuming", I'm using the fact that they take the new Pokemon from the regional Pokedex in the order they are and put them in the National Dex numbers. If Rowlet is 001, then this means that Rowlet would be #722. I don't understand how you can't see that it wouldn't somehow become 760 or something...Theexploringgamer (talk) 20:56, 11 June 2016 (UTC)
You're assuming, and we will not do that. It doesn't really hurt anything if we just wait until we have official confirmation of their National 'dex numbers. We strive for accuracy, and assumptions like you're suggesting can hurt our reputation when one of them backfires. This is our general policy. Please try to understand. Tiddlywinks (talk) 21:00, 11 June 2016 (UTC)
I'm trying, but when you're someone like me who likes the facts right, then I think a site like Bulbapedia could be forgiven if something is wrong. Like how Ethan_(game) was called Gold for years when that wasn't his name. I'm not saying to put numbers for all of the new Pokemon, I'm saying we can ASSUME (yes, I'll say I'm assuming) through past logic given with Pokemon that they would be that number. I understand what you're saying though. At the VERY LEAST, put their regional numbers in. Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio were revealed to be 1,4,and 7 respectively.Theexploringgamer (talk) 21:05, 11 June 2016 (UTC)
1) Please...do not demand.
2) Updating our infobox template so that we can enter their regional numbers is not really a trivial matter. And we don't actually know the (official) English name of that Pokedex region. Therefore IMO it's not even worth updating the infobox yet. Tiddlywinks (talk) 21:19, 11 June 2016 (UTC)

Userspace limits

Hello. I have noticed that you have been editing the User: namespace a lot recently, and have made a total of 4+ userspace edits today. Please do not edit the userspace any more, as the userspace policy limits the amount you can edit your userpage: No more than three edits per day (by UTC), and you must contribute to the mainspace more than you edit your user page(s). This policy was instated to promote people helping out in the mainspace, and also to control strain on our servers. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, after all, so help us out by contributing to some articles before coming back to your personal page(s). The more often you edit in the mainspace, the more you will be allowed to edit your user page(s). Thank you. --Abcboy (talk) 21:56, 11 June 2016 (UTC)

Signing talk page comments

Please remember to sign your talk page comments by typing four tildes (~~~~) or by selecting the four tildes in the character palette below the editing window. This provides your signature, which includes links to your user page and talk page as well as a timestamp so people can tell when you left the message. If you'd like, you can customize your signature by following the instructions in the Signature policy. Thanks! --Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 20:00, 12 June 2016 (UTC)

Again, please remember to sign your talk page comments with ~~~~. Otherwise, nobody will know who left the message or when it was left. Thanks! Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 21:36, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

Userspace editing

Once again, it appears that you have gone over the userspace limit by making a total of 9 userspace edits today. Please keep in mind that the userspace editing limit is no more than three edits per day (by UTC), with the requirement of making at least one more constructive mainspace edit than userspace edits you make. Continued violations of the userspace policy may result in your userspace privileges being revoked. Thank you. --Abcboy (talk) 17:55, 18 June 2016 (UTC)

Sorry, I am making a page about all the new Pokemon so people can see how much has been revealed. I'll try not to go over my limits again. Theexploringgamer (talk) 18:00, 18 June 2016 (UTC)
